Strategy and Business Development Manager
Employment
(minimum of 32 hours)
“The Strategy and Business Development Manager reports to the Head of Strategy & Data Analytics
and ensures that key projects are implemented on time and the targeted results delivered, in order to
contribute to the overall growth and efficiency within the company. In addition, the person will
perform analyses and write reports regarding market developments, competition and strategic
priorities, and assist in the annual strategic planning cycle. Works within the Strategy & Data
Analytics team”.
Responsibilities
Interacting as the linking pin between the Strategy & Data Analytics department and the different
functional areas in the organization in order to successfully carry out projects, as well as providing
meaningful support within the Strategy & Data Analytics team and to CEO and/or CFO, as needed.
Project Management
You will create plans of action, in conjunction with the business, on the larger strategic initiatives and
changes, and follow implementation of action plans, discusses progress amongst key players and
reports about it. Translates topics from concept into action for colleagues and teams to speed up
progress and ensure actual implementation of changes. In this role you are also responsible for
project management of multidisciplinary and complex project teams and drives decision making.
Strategy
You will provide insights in the defined strategies and budgets, determines the potential
consequences and reports about it. Initiates, monitors and checks progress on strategic priorities
within the company.
Advisory
Performs market research and competitive tracking, gathers insights and identifies opportunities and
new business concepts.
Support
You will provide general support (performing analyses, preparing presentations) to the Head of
Strategy & Data Analytics and assist CEO and/or CFO on specific projects an as-needed basis.
Position requirements
Actively identifies the wishes and needs of the internal customer within the responsibilities of own
position, and delivers, where possible even more or quicker than was agreed or expected
• Is able to think on an abstract level
• Makes proposals for the efficient design of processes with regard to the deployment of time
and means
• Works effectively with others to achieve common targets, looks for opportunities to
cooperate
• Is very organized, is able to structure activities and projects, sticks to agreements within
deadlines and according to guidelines
• Demonstrates a high level of pragmatism and flexibility
and:
 Academic level in combination with 4-7 years of relevant working experience in Strategy
consulting, private equity and/or project positions within the business
• Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
• Experience in retail is preferred
We offer the following remuneration
 Competitive salary based on a 38-hour working week
 Bonus scheme based on personal and corporate objectives
 A laptop and telephone
We open stores in the Netherlands and abroad on a daily basis. Its high growth rate makes Action a
successful and rapidly developing organization. It is expected that the department will expand even
further.
In addition, Action’s expansion involves challenges in terms of processes, projects and
