Social media has both benefits and drawbacks for social interactions and behaviors. It allows for global connectivity and information sharing, but excessive use can negatively impact users' social lives, thoughts, and behaviors. By making unrealistic comparisons to others' lives, constantly checking profiles, and oversharing, social media may increase feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and depression. It can also contribute to communication issues, sleep problems, and even violence in some cases. While social media connects people, too much time online can replace real-world socializing and harm users' mental and physical health.
