SAP Testing
At SQA Solution the objectives of SAP Testing are
to verify that the installed system, which includes the SAP
software, custom code and manual procedures, perform per
business requirements:
 Executes as specified and without error.
 Validates with the users and management that the
delivered system performs in accordance with the stated
system requirements.
 Ensures that the system works with other existing systems,
including but not limited to interfaces, conversions, and
reports.
SQA Solution SAP Testing Phases
Typically, there are five SQA Solution SAP Test Phases. They
are as follows:
The five SQA Solution SAP Test Phases.
 Unit Testing addresses the informal testing of individual
FRICE Objects such as forms, interfaces, reports,
enhancements, and conversions.
 Integration Testing is the satisfactory execution of
processes. This phase of testing ensures that the SAP
software functions correctly, system configuration tables
are set up correctly, programs run correctly, and system
outputs are reliable.
 Regression Testing verifies that functionality previously
released into the Production SAP environment will not be
negatively affected by new, modified, or upgraded
functionality.
 Performance Testing validates that the software,
hardware, and network infrastructures are in place and
operating at efficient levels. This testing is required to
adequately stress the SAP and related Non-SAP systems in
a network environment, inclusive of remote sites/nodes.
Performance testing will also include testing of those
business processes that would cause stress due to high
transaction or batch volumes.
 User Acceptance Testing is used to:
 Confirm the test cases needed to run using the
acceptance test environment.
 Ensure the acceptance tests are suitable for
management, users of the system and computer
operations.
 Execute the User Acceptance Test.
SAP and HP/Mercury Test Tools
SQA Solution is a SAP Services Alliance Partner, a Special
Expertise Partner to SAP in various industries, and an HP
Software Partner. As such, SQA Solution has positioned itself
to offer and provide specialized SAP Testing Services COE
expertise and support to the SAP community. We do this by
utilizing best practices to develop, implement, and establish
both manual and automated testing throughout the System
Life Cycle for SAP systems.
SAP Application Process
The SQA Solution SAP Testing Services Center of Excellence
(COE) can offer your company qualified SAP Testing
Consultants who are proficient in all aspects of Manual and
Automated SAP Testing, including the following:
SAP Quality Center (QC) and Quick Test
Professional (QTP) from HP (Mercury)
QC and QTP are integrated with SAP Solution Manager to
facilitate the exchange of information and data between these
two tools to:
 Expedite the creation of SAP Test Plans.
 Ensure test coverage of SAP business processes within
manual or automated tests is achieved. This includes the
downloading of SAP test requirements into Quality Center
directly from the enterprise blueprint, which is incorporated
into SAP Solution Manager to reduce costs and errors.
 Minimize the effort to perform testing related change
impact analysis for the SAP Change Requests in Solution
Manager.
 Foster the objective assessment of business risk of SAP
requirements for a Risked-based quality management
process.
 Develop the Testing Architecture, for manual and
automated Test Cases and Scripts.
 Ensure the performance of manual and automated Test
Executions.
 Capture and document test results.
 Facilitate test data analysis.
 Provide for accurate reporting of test status to project
managers.
 Synchronize defects tracked in QC with SAP Service Desk
Requests.
 Facilitate management of quality metrics with best industry
practice Key Process Indicators (KPIs) via the Quality
Center Dashboard.
SAP Test Acceleration and Optimization
(TAO) Application for Business Process
Testing
The SAP Test Acceleration Optimization (TAO) Application is
used to:
 Automatically create test components.
 Upload test components to HP Quality Center.
 Create Test Cases.
 Execute automated tests against a SAP system.
 Provide a workflow process for handling sped-up testing.
 Facilitate and manage SAP and HP System Connections
across a variety of SAP and HP test environments.
 Automate the control over Transaction Screen Inspections
for specified SAP transactions and SAPGUI Dynpros.
 Facilitate the migration of testing components through the
Quality Center.
 Automate end-to-end business process testing solutions
based on the definition of Business Blue Prints contained in
SAP Solution Manager.
SAP Testing Accelerators
These accelerators provide faster SAP testing development
through by using a component and object based approach for
automated test scripts. Automated Test Scripts are
constructed from reusable components based upon expert
definitions of SAP business processes. This provides easier
test composition for Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and
reduced Test Script development and maintenance hours
during SAP implementation and upgrade projects.
SAP Test Data Migration Server
This is a high-speed tool that extracts data from your live
production environment. It then populates your development,
quality assurance, test, and training systems with the SAP
business data. By using SAP TDMS you can:
 Reduce extensive data volume for the non-production
landscape.
 Use real business data to simulate the production
environment.
 Reduce post processing work by standardization of
administrative data.
 Selectively refresh individual clients in targeted multi-client
testing environments.
 Create slimmed-down master shells.
 Scramble sensitive data according to security needs for use
in non-production environments.
SAP Performance Center from HP
(Mercury)
This can be used to provide SAP Performance Testing that
includes:
 Volume Tests
 Stress Tests
 Printing Tests
 Fax Tests
 Email Tests
 Network and Infrastructure Tests
 System Administration Tests
 Backup Procedure Tests
 Restore Procedure Tests
 Disaster Recovery Tests
 Performance Monitoring of the production environment
Successful SAP Testing at SQA Solution has been achieved for
our customers’ SAP projects and systems by reducing SAP
implementation risks, focusing manual and automated testers
for increased value, building re-usable testing libraries,
meeting ambitious schedules, improving the caliber of
documented test cases and results, and by building suites of
SAP oriented manual and automated test scripts within
project time-lines.
Our SAP Testing Services include, but are not limited to, the
following:
 Organizing all current test assets on both SAP and Legacy
sites.
 Identifying and defining data exchange points.
 Ensuring test coverage for all the interfaces.
 Identifying round-trip transactions to ensure end-to-end
data coverage.
 Designing and integrating test cases.
 Identifying and roundtrip transaction to ensure end-2-end
data coverage.
 Generating Basic Acceptance and End-to-end test cases.
 Training appropriate personnel for future support.
 Performing Project Management for the test integration
effort.
The solution we bring to you will reduce the time for testing
integration, achieve quality of data exchange and migration,
and improve quality of your product.
