Role Of Communication in IT Presentation by: Varun Bakshi Varun Raj Atri Sachin Shandil Rohit Singla Ashish Gupta
What is Information Technology? Information Technology is a system that process for required output. The use of modern technology to aid the capture, storage, retrieval, analysis, and communication of information. IT can be described as a set of elements connect together for Retrieving ,processing and outputting data in the appropriate Format for the purpose of common objective.
Communication The exchange of thoughts, messages, or the like, as by writing, signals or speech. To express oneself in such a way that one is readily and clearly understood.

Information and communications technology Information and communications technology(ICT) involves innovations in microelectronics , computing (hardware and software), telecommunications and opto-electronics micro-processors, semiconductors, fibre optics. These innovations enable the processing and storage of enormous amounts of information along with rapid distribution of Information through communication Networks.
Benefits From Information and communication technology. Information and communications technology carries on high promise both in human and economic terms. Benefits could be obtained in: Education Job training Health care Food security Environment management Government efficiency And specifically in Science and Technology: Speed up dissemination of scientific results world-wide through scientific knowledge sharing and exchange Allows to set up of Virtual Labs for communications and remote instrument control
Some Facts Related To IT Worldwide mobile telephone subscriptions reached 3.3 billion in 2007. An estimated 2 billion people will be on the Web by 2011 Interconnected …systems working together in new ways Daily financial market messages growing from 5 billion in 2006, to 130 billion+ per day in 2010

Information Technology in Mobile Cell Phone
Wifi Wi-fi Short for wireless fidelity and is meant to be used generically when referring to any type of 802.11 network. Wi-fi is a wireless technology that uses radio frequency to transmit data through the air.
Types of Wi-fi Topology:- Adhoc(P2p) AP Based Technology Point to Multipoint Bridge Technology
Adhoc A peer-to-peer (P2P) network allows wireless devices to directly communicate with each other. Wireless devices within range of each other can discover and communicate directly without involving central access points. This method is typically used by two computers so that they can connect to each other to form a network.
AP Based Technology The more common type of topology that allows access to wired network resources is the infrastructure topology. In this topology, APs are added to a switch, which provides connectivity to wireless stations
Point to multipoint This is used to connect a LAN in one building to a LANs in other buildings even if the buildings are miles apart
Why Wi-Fi? Setup Cost – Reduced cabling required Flexibility – Quick and easy to setup in temp or permanent space Scalable – Can be expanded with growth Freedom – You can work from any location that you can get a signal Lower total cost of ownership – Because of affordability and low install cost
GPS The GPS consists of three parts: the space segment, the control segment, and the user segment. GPS satellites broadcast signals from space, which each GPS receiver uses to calculate its three-dimensional location(latitude, longitude, and altitude) plus the current time.
3 G International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 (IMT--2000) , better known as 3G or 3rd Generation , is a generation of standards for mobile phones and mobile telecommunications services fulfilling specifications by the International Telecommunication Union . Application services include wide-area wireless voice telephone, mobile Internet access, video calls and mobile TV, all in a mobile environment.
