Ripple Effect of
Changes
Instead of creating a wave coming from outside
Ripple vs. Wave
Naturally spreads out into the organization
Unpredictable and seen as forced upon the
organization
CONSTRUCTIVE DESTRUCTIVE
A good place to start the Ripple
through engagement!
!  Before diving into organizational change
!  identify upfront all the stakeholders that may be either directly or
indirectly impacted by your change.
!  Consider not only the immediate consequences, but those that can
ripple out over time.
!  brainstorm all the different relationships between the target
business unit and their broader stakeholder communities.
!  This will help you to be aware, and plan on how to communicate
with and engage with different stakeholders throughout the
change process
Fun, informative and
empowering exercise
!  hold some events/sessions/workshops with your employees
and other stakeholders
!  They will feel their needs are considered
!  get some valuable insights that would missed.
