[DSC Europe 22] Next-Wave of Value – Operating Model for Scaling Data Science...DataScienceConferenc1
The generation of value using machine learning and artificial intelligence for companies and their customers is now undeniable. Many companies have successfully completed the first phase of data-driven transformation and are now facing the task of creating sustainable value for the organization through scaling. With the advance of hyperscalers, automation and democratization of AI, many skills that were previously relevant and difficult to access are becoming “commodities”. The interaction between the data scientists and business departments is becoming even more important. The central question of many companies is now: "What should the organization for efficient scaling of data-driven solutions look like in the future?" In this talk, the question will be considered from an organizational and technological point of view using "Lessons Learned" with the aim of outlining the essential foundations for a sustainable operating model.

Scaling Your Productivity as a Tech LeaderToby Rogers
In today's fast-paced digital landscape, time is a precious commodity for tech leaders. With the advent of Generative AI (GenAI), a new era of productivity and efficiency has dawned. This talk explores how tech leaders can leverage GenAI as a super-knowledgeable assistant to amplify their impact and streamline their workflows.
Drawing from real-world examples, such as our work with Under Armour in the marketing space and the ProductOps automation initiatives, the talk delves into the practical applications of GenAI. It showcases how GenAI can help tech leaders extract valuable insights from app and marketing data, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance decision-making processes.
It also highlights the transformative potential of GenAI in scaling a tech leader's capabilities. By harnessing the power of this cutting-edge technology, tech leaders can overcome the constraints of time and resources, enabling them to focus on strategic initiatives and drive innovation within their organisations.
AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology is now poised to
transform every industry, just as electricity did 100 years
ago. Between now and 2030, it will create an estimated
$13 trillion of GDP growth. While it has already created
tremendous value in leading technology companies
such as Google, Baidu, Microsoft and Facebook, much
of the additional waves of value creation will go beyond
the software sector.
This AI Transformation Playbook draws on insights
gleaned from leading the Google Brain team and
the Baidu AI Group, which played leading roles in
transforming both Google and Baidu into great AI
companies. It is possible for any enterprise to follow
this Playbook and become a strong AI company,
though these recommendations are tailored primarily
for larger enterprises with a market cap/valuation from
$500M to $500B.
PLAYBOOK STEPS
1. Execute pilot projects to gain momentum
2. Build an in-house AI team
3. Provide broad AI training
4. Develop an AI strategy
5. Develop internal and external communications

The document summarizes a panel discussion on real-world HR technology implementations. The panelists discussed some of the challenges their companies faced in implementing HR systems and integrating technologies. They emphasized the importance of using open standards to expedite requirements gathering, reduce development time and costs, and allow flexibility to adapt to changing business needs. Using standards also facilitates integrating systems from different vendors and partners to provide better experiences for candidates and customers.
Top Artificial Intelligence Tools & Frameworks in 2023.pdfYamuna5
Artificial intelligence has facilitated the processing and use of data in the business world. With the growth of AI and ML, data scientists and developers now have more AI tools and frameworks to work with. We believe it's important for machine learning platforms to be easy to use for business people who need results, but also powerful enough for technical teams who want to push the boundaries of data analysis with customizable extensions. The key to success is choosing the right AI framework or machine learning library.

Applied Deep Learning for Text Classification - Examples from the HR IndustryAlexander Chukovski
Text Classification is a major part of our data processing stack. We have successfully managed to automate a large part of complex document classification processes with traditional linear classifiers, based on n-grams, bad of words and linguistic rules and extensive feature engineering. In this presentation we decided to benchmark couple of deep learning algorithms like Very Deep Convolutional Neural Networks (VDCNN) and Hierarchical Deep Learning for Text Classification (HDLTex) on the classification of career levels for jobs. In parallel, we compare the Deep Learning results to an innovative text classification framework, developed and open-sourced by Facebook (FastText), which yields supreme results.
The document discusses building an API strategy and culture within a large organization. It emphasizes that an API strategy requires more than just defining technical aspects - it requires establishing an organizational culture around APIs through evangelism, identifying use cases, designing teams, and training. It provides examples of roles needed like an API Evangelist to bridge technical and business needs, and outlines steps to build an API business case for teams to pilot APIs, define success metrics, and establish style guides and standards.
[DSC Europe 22] AI Ethics and AI Quality By Design - Muthu RamachandranDataScienceConferenc1
The document discusses the need to integrate AI ethics and quality into AI software design. It proposes a software engineering framework called SEF-AI&ML for developing AI and machine learning applications. The framework aims to address challenges in developing, testing, and ensuring quality in AI products. It discusses integrating principles of AI ethics, traditional software quality attributes, and processes like AIOps and MLOps into the AI application development lifecycle. The document also covers evaluating AI architectures using a case study of developing a chatbot.

Introduction to Agile:
Start with a clear understanding of what Agile is. Agile is an iterative approach to project management and software development that enables teams to deliver value to their customers faster and with fewer headaches. Unlike traditional project management methods that rely on a 'big bang' launch, Agile focuses on delivering work in small, consumable increments.
Key Principles of Agile:
Learn about the core values and principles that form the foundation of Agile methodology. Agile prioritizes individuals and interactions over processes and tools, working software over comprehensive documentation, customer collaboration over contract negotiation, and responding to change over following a plan. These principles guide Agile teams to work more efficiently and flexibly.
Benefits of Agile:
Discover the numerous benefits Agile offers, including:
Flexibility and Adaptability: Quickly respond to changes in the project environment.
Customer Satisfaction: Ensure continuous delivery of valuable software.
Improved Team Collaboration: Foster better communication and teamwork.
Early and Predictable Delivery: Achieve smaller and more frequent releases.
Continuous Improvement: Regularly reflect and enhance processes.
Agile Frameworks:
Explore popular Agile frameworks such as:
