moving the mouse.
Left-click Same as click. Left-click clarifies the action when
there might be confusion with right-click.
Right-click Press and release the right mouse button, without
moving the mouse.
Double-click Press and release the left mouse button twice in
rapid succession without moving the mouse.
Drag Click-and-hold a mouse button, then move an
object. For example, you can drag a window or an
icon. The left and middle mouse buttons can perform
drag actions.
MOUSE ACTIONS
Types of mouse
 Mechanical Mouse
A hard rubber ball that rolls as the mouse is
moved. Sensors inside the mouse body detect
the movement and translate it into information
that the computer interprets.
 Optical Mouse
Use an LED sensor to detect table top
movement and sends off that information to
the computer for merry munching.
 Cordless Mouse
A cordless mouse frees you from cord
problems. It connects to your computer with a
radio signal. We can also say that wireless
mouse.

A file is an object on a computer that
stores data, information, settings, or

Editor's Notes

  1. Windows Mac Linux Unix Xp, 7, 8, 10 leopard Ubuntu
  2. It is the translator between the user and the hardware Manages files and the system itself Enables hardware components to communicate with each other with applications
  3. Hibination saves to hdd and sleep saves to RAM a GUI operating system for personal computers.
  4. The Start menu, accessed with a click on the Start button, lists the programs, folders and utility applications that are available on your computer. The Start menu is divided into panes, with similar items grouped on a pane. The left pane displays a list of programs that you commonly access on the computer. This gets you going quickly if you need one of these applications. If you use Microsoft Word consistently, it will appear on this list. Programs that you don’t use as frequently are accessed when you point to All Programs on the left pane. The right pane accesses your system folders, such as Documents, Pictures and Music. You open and adjust your system settings from this pane, using the Control Panel. You also log off, shut down, and get help using the right pane of the Start menu. Below the left pane, the Search box enables you to type keywords to complete searches for files or folders on your computer. Searching will be covered in a later slide in this presentation.
