LinkedIn for Recruiters
Basic tips for standard users.
For those of you who do not have a recruiter licence there are loads of different ways of finding
candidates without your account being blocked.
When searching for candidates on the search bar and you see candidates that you like. You can save
them into a list by clicking the arrow
You can also tag them into lists by clicking onto their profile. Click on relationships. On this you can
create a tag e: g “Candidate”.
How to find these lists?
Network> Connections > Go down to filtered contacts> click on saved contacts
Network>Connections > Go down to filtered contacts> click on Tagged contacts
Groups
When you find a potential candidate see what groups they are in. With this resource you can find
candidates and inmail them direct. You have to request to follow the group. Once you are in you can
post jobs, and find out about other opportunities. To find members all you have to do is click on
members and click contact. The max for groups is 50.
Connections
Adding contacts there is a limit of 15 a day. Then you will get blocked. There is a link below which

Security
If you want to connect with someone to get their contacts, you can. If you don’t want them to see
your connections. Go to security settings.
You can hide the “viewer of you also viewed” so if there are ex-employees or anyone unwarranted
you can switch this off.
You can make your connections only viewable to you. (select there who can see your connections)
You can be completely anonymous when viewing someone’s profile. The only limit with this is you
won’t be able to see who is viewing you.
If you are being bombarded with groups notifications go to communications ( in security settings)
and you can limit the emails you receive.
You can view where you are signed in at the top of the security setting there is a button with active
users.
Syncing/exporting
Click Network and click connection then top right there is a little screw sign
Click on that
Then it will take you to this section. On the right you can export your contacts and beneath you can
import your contacts from other sources.
Alumni
If you are looking for graduate or alumni from a certain university. You go to network and go down
to alumni in this section you will find people who came out of the university with the same degree or
whatever you are searching for.it is another way of hunting candidates and leads.
LinkedIn Profile
As we work in lots of international markets you can change your profile into various different
languages. On your profile photo there is a arrow beside it click make profile into another language it
is that simple.
The basic points for LinkedIn are?
 Fill your profile in with as much information you can.
 Edit your company profile to show premium.
 Add links and media
 Share each other jobs and news
 Your LinkedIn is your personal account- so a front facing photo or avatar are absolutely fine.
 Add a background photo.
 Add links to the company website and social media channels.
 Get recommendations
 Endorse others and others will endorse you.
 Make sure you post in groups and add yourself to relevant groups.
Daily LinkedIn Activity
Only 10 mins before your first call or at lunch. Your daily LinkedIn activity should look like this:
1. Endorse Others
2. Review Recent Profile Views
3. Share Evergreen Content (Recruitment tips/ industry news)
4. Share Curated Content (job posts/adverts)
5. Comment on Group Posts
