Cube?
This
is
a
novel,
innova,ve
approach,
which
makes
it
easier
for
users
to
access

use
space-‐based
data,

allows
efficient

series
analyses
and
data
assimila,on.
Instead
of
managing
scenes
it
works
with
a
mul,-‐
dimensional
(space,
,me,
data
layers)

Cube
with
pixel
elements,
which
provides
an
efficient
and
effec/ve
solu/on
support
with
analysis-‐
ready
products
for
the
user.

of
the
project
idea
Establishment
of
the
Danube
Data
Cube,
an
infrastructure,
tailored
for
the
efficient
use
of
/me
series
for
retrospec,ve
spa,o-‐temporal
and
predic,ve
analysis
suppor/ng
the
implementa/on
of
the
Danube
Region
Strategy
Aim
of
the
pilot
project
To
exploit
the
value
of
the
preserved
historical
Earth
Observa/on
data
and
other
relevant
archived
documents,
ensuring
efficient
infrastructure
for
the
retrospec/ve
and
predic/ve
analysis,
which
can
lead
to
more
sounded
decisions
for
the
future
in
the
areas
of
S3
(e.g.
energy,
health
and
water)

The
system,
architecture

data
value
chain
could
be
designed
in
coopera,on
with
ESA
using
experiences
and
know-‐hows
offered
by
CEOS
Data
Historical
EO
data
could
be
provided
by
ESA
ESRIN
for
the
pilot
area
selected,
while
CEOS
could
offer
some
sample
Data
Cube
data.
Addi/onal
inputs
include
historical
thema,c
data
data,
as
digital
map
heritage,
/me
series.
Data
Cube
also
applicable
to
assimilate
new
data
collected
by
novel
and/or
innova/ve
manner
(Sen/nel,
IoT,
ci/zen
science).
Promo/ng
the
use
of
open
data/open
source
tools.
Pilot
apps
The
realized
service
has
mul/purpose
applicability.
Possible
and
recommended
areas
include
sustainable
environment–related
water
and
land
issues,
whereas
it
is
an/cipated
that
historical
/me-‐series
and
thema/c
data
are
available.
The
recommended
area
for
the
pilot
could
be
selected
part
of
the
Carpathian
basin.
