To understand today’s distributed enterprise landscape, IDC and
Comcast Business conducted a survey of IT professionals in U.S.
businesses with five or more organizations. While respondents
emphasized the importance of distributed enterprise networking, it
was surprising how many companies are not getting it right.
Based on the research, IDC developed a Distributed Enterprise
Transformation Index, identifying four levels of distributed enterprise
networking sophistication.
Ultra-Connected
Centrally managed network using
3rd-party resources. Relies on a mix
of public Internet and private WAN
to serve remote workers.
Branch-Centric
Hybrid network of managed and
unmanaged resources. Remote
workers rely on private WAN to
access network.
HQ-Centric
Hybrid network of managed and
unmanaged resources. Remote
workers rely on public Internet.
Resister
Centrally managed network using
in-house resources. Remote workers
rely on public Internet.

YOUR DISTRIBUTED ENTERPRISE STRATEGY
ETHERNET NETWORK SERVICES
With low-latency Ethernet Network Service,
organizations can optimize application performance
across a Wide Area Network (WAN), allowing them to
perform as if they are on a Local Area Network (LAN).
ETHERNET DEDICATED INTERNET
Ethernet Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) provides many
benefits over T1-based DIA, eliminating the need to buy
more capacity than required.
ETHERNET PRIVATE LINE
Ideal for mission-critical, sensitive-data applications, EPL
bypasses public Internet and securely transmits traffic
over a private connection, backed by an SLA.
ETHERNET VIRTUAL PRIVATE LINE
EVPL improves application performance with a private,
point-to-multipoint network design between multiple
locations—even to a third-party data center or cloud
platform.
ETHERNET @HOME
For any company with remote employees, partners, or
customers, this built-for-business alternative to using
the public Internet provides remote access to a high-
speed Comcast Business network.
BUSINESS INTERNET FOR BRANCH OFFICES
Perfect for branch offices, franchise locations, retail
stores, and remote locations, Business Internet
streamlines your information flow–with speedy
performance, advanced security, and dedicated national
support.
CLOUD AND DATA CENTER
Apps and work flows need to work as well off-site as
they do on-site. Private Ethernet connectivity to your
cloud or data center is the technology of choice for
seamlessly integrating off-premises resources into an
application delivery chain.
MANAGED ENTERPRISE SOLUTIONS AND SERVICES
Comcast Business can design, build, implement, and
maintain your entire IT solution—featuring managed
connectivity, managed router, managed security,
managed WiFI, managed business continuity, and
managed voice services—so you can focus on
delivering value to your business.

To extend your services, Comcast Business offers
solutions to address Maintenance, Installation,
Monitoring, Tier 1 Help Desk, and Network Design and
Management.
