Abstract:
Workforce or employee productivity is an appraisal of the competence of an employee or group
of Employees by measuring the value or output they generated over a particular period of time.
Usually, the productivity of an Employee or worker will be measured relative to an average for
employees performing similar kind of works because a major part of the Organizational success
relies upon the productivity of its Employees, So Workforce productivity and its evaluation is an
important consideration for all type of businesses. Humans can perform excellent work when they
are deliberate, focused, and, most importantly, free from interference. Categorizing Productivity
obstacles and constraints is important because it can help you quickly understand which group
requires the most attention in your company. In addition, some groups are more manageable than
others. Apart from various internal and external distractions and work life balance which are
already hampering employee’s productivity at the Outbreak of Covid- 19 helps turning it even
worse than ever. One of new Challenge includes the versatility of the workforce today. The
second one includes emergence of a rapid shift towards remote working, lack of connectivity,
Work life balance issues, Infrastructural barriers in Work from Home, Mental pressures, Health
crisis etc. When working practises become more distant or hybrid in the aftermath of the COVID-
19 pandemic, the central challenge for businesses is how to sustain and boost this competitiveness
at the workplace of the future. This uncertainty suggests that employers should continually review
and adapt their strategy to help serve their people's health and well-being, particularly when needs
change as the situation begins to change. Most of the companies have adopted E- training and E
leadership to survive in the wake of corona. So here in this study I try to find out the employees

I Introduction
The coronavirus pandemic which initially started in December, 2019 in Wahan, China and turned
to be one of the most scary diseases and huge concern which the world is experiencing. The
coronavirus pandemic has affected every aspect of our lives from social to business and from
business to education and from education to many more aspects. The pandemic has changed many
things temporary and many more permanently and will be impossible to get normal. In the
beginning of the pandemic many people started facing a lot of health problems and many lost
their lives. Beside, human causalities many lost their businesses, jobs, money, joy, happiness and
social interaction. The covid led almost all countries to close their cities for business,
entertainment and enjoyment in order to prevent from spreading of the viruss which will take big
time to recover and still some cities are shut due to the pandemic. The pandemic caused huge
losses to business and to bear the financial losses and survive for long time many companies has

19 but turning to remote working style is accompanying with many disruptions such as,
technology, communication, productivity, work life balance, proper workplace and many more.
II REVIEW OF LITERATURE
Many experiments have focused on one or two methods of calculating efficiency and Productivity
of employees, and because many different techniques have been implemented, it can be difficult
to compare outcomes (Nollman, 2013). Totally, there is a lack of an efficient and standardised
method to calculate the productivity of workforce. As the performance of a company depends
primarily on the efficiency of its workers, employee productivity has also become one of the
foremost business priorities (Cato & Gordon, 2009; Gummesson, 1998; Sharma & Sharma,
2014).According to a study conducted by Sharma and Sharma (2014), the workforce productivity

is mainly dependent up on the timespan that an employee is physically present at their
office/workplace, in addition to the extent that he / she is "mentally present" or is functioning
successfully during a workplace presence.
Companies should resolve these problems in order to achieve a high productivity of workers.
Cato and Gordon (2009) have showed that aligning the corporate strategy with employee
productivity is a crucial contributor to the performance of the company. As a result, this alignment
will empower and encourage workers to be more innovative and eventually enhance their
efficiency to meet corporate goals and objectives (Morales et al., 2001; Obdulio, 2014)
.According to a study conducted Dr.Amir Elnaga, Amen Imran (2013) by This research mainly
focuses on the role of training in improving employee efficiency. Education plays a crucial role
in developing the skills of both new and existing workers to successfully carry out their jobs. It
also prepares workers to hold a potential position in a completely competent company and helps
to resolve shortcomings in any sector relevant to work.
The study summarized that training has Positive effect on employee results. Productivity of
workforce can be measured by comparing to the work done by an individual over a particular
period of time. Usually, with workers doing comparable jobs, the efficiency of a particular job
would be measured according to an average. It can also be measured on the basis of the number
of units of the good or service that the employee handles within a given period (Piana, 2001)As
per Ravichandran, Venkataraman and Banumathy (2011) concluded that businesses should
conduct annual performance evaluations to increase employee productivity and include
reliability, communication skills and skills growth training to improve the quality of management
of employees. It presents the value of employee growth programmes, the value of human capital
investment, and the challenges of employee development. The paper found that the employee
performance will affect the organisational effectiveness so it must give utmost importance.

19. Productivity of employees is enormously important for organizations for the sake of profit
special in the time of the pandemic. How we can keep the same pace of productivity during covid-
19 and what we can do to recognize the factors which can affect the productivity of our
employees? We will study about the quality of working during the pandemic and whether the
employees are motivated or not about their current job environment and conditions. Work from
home simply means remote working and being at home and complete the tasks which has been
assigned to you by your organization. Nowadays it is quite famous expression and we can say it
is the only reason why some organizations are able to make money and are able to survive
IV Objectives of Study:
• To study the effect of covid-19 on employee productivity.
• To understand the factors motivating employees during the pandemic.
• To conceptually recognize the impact of Covid-19 during pandemic
V. Interpretation and Observation

because it leads to creation value and earing of profit which is quite important for survival of
company and via that they can be competitive in respective industries
Every successful business understands the importance of productivity in the organization. By
having productive workforce in the workplace any organization can easily reduce organizational
expenses which will to more profit. Productive employees can make massive changes to the
organization by simply utilizing the resources more effective and efficiently which will definitely
lead to growth and capturing new market opportunities. But as covid-19 has affected every aspect
of our professional and personal life it has affected the productivity of organizations as well. After
the spread of pandemic almost all organizations asked the employees to start their working from
home. At the first glance, it was sudden change and utterly dependent on technology which some
has difficulty in using it and that hamper the productivity of employees. After sometimes the
organizations which understood the need to change they made huge amount of money and the one
which failed to understand the need to changes borne big losses.
To understand the factors motivating employees during the pandemic
Motivation is all form of hope, desire, and drive to work(Oren, Tziner, Nahshon& Sharoni, 2013).
Motivation can be both intrinsic and extrinsic sometimes we are feeling motivated because of our
internal factors such as our personality, values and desires and mostly we are motivated because
of external factor like the environment, family, friends and situation. Motivation leads to high
productivity.
The pandemic caused almost all organizations to shut their doors and stay at home and has been
affected employees and which forced them to work from home. The sudden changed from social
working environment to isolated working environment led them to struggle and feel alone. In such
situation the employees need to help and motivate them to overcome the time of uncertainty and
stress. Since, the situation is totally different and we all experience it for the first time and during
the pandemic along with the monetary reward non-monetary reward paly major role for sustaining
healthy working environment along with the productive employees. As a suggestive node E-
training is the way which the organizations delivers lecture to the employees via virtual means in
order to enhanced their skills, knowledge and expertise for the sake of high productivity. Because

of the pandemic most of the employees are working from home and using technology for
performing the tsk and may they are not familiar with some of them that is why there is need for
E- learning. This can be one of the leading factor for motivation of employees.
To conceptually recognize the impact of Covid-19 during pandemic
In order to have high productivity in the workplace working condition can be significantly
important because great working condition can lead to high moral and productive employees.
During the pandemic the proper working condition can help employees to reduce stress, anxiety
and uncertainty and can enhance the well-being of the employees. Hence, in the pandemic it is
quite important to take care of employees well-being by creating proper working conditions for
them.
