Electrical safety guidelines advise not placing cords near heat or water, not touching anything electric with wet hands, and ensuring equipment is properly grounded. Defective electrical devices, frayed cords, broken plugs or receptacles should be reported immediately to engineering for safety. Tags on electrical objects indicate they should not be tampered with.
