District conference rotaract presentation
It’s who we are...
We are a charity group that is committed to
making a change in our community whilst still
having fun and building life long friendships. For
us, it’s all about building relationships – with our
community, our members, our Interactors, our
fellow Rotaract clubs, our parent club Rotary, our
sponsors and most importantly, the people we
help with our charity projects.
It’s what we do...
By broadening our horizons, and expanding
our portfolio, we are not only able to reach
more people in the communities we
serve, but we can create awareness and
spend our time dedicating ourselves to
making the world a better place.
Meeting our Board...

    Mispah – Co-president Madeleine – Co-president Caitlin – Vice President

Helen - Treasurer Tate - Projects Barry - Membership Lauren - Secretary
Our Projects...
We try to keep our options open with projects and
also keep a broad spectrum. From renovating
houses, assisting at medical camps, helping baby
centres, old age homes and animal shelters, we are
willing to do it all! We offer assistance through
financial donations, volunteer work, collection
drives, fundraiser and offering professional advise
through our various fields of expertise.
CANSA House...
The Cancer Association of South Africa has an Interim Home in
Glendinningvale in Port Elizabeth where patients from out of town
stay while they receive cancer treatment. This was our Main Project
                 for the 2011 – 2012 calendar Year.

Problems we face...
• Membership numbers – where our Club was and where
  it is now
• Preaching to the masses – growth amongst friends
• Diversifying your impact - greater interest
• Meetings – making it fun!
• Consistency and Continuity – a good succession plan for
  the future
• Facebook and the Internet – How Social Media and
technology have changed everything for us!
Why we do it...
“To join a well-recognised organisation in order to be able to give
back to those less fortunate, and to meet new people with the
   same goals.” - Madeleine
“To use Rotaract as a platform to make a difference in the community
and to get involved with as many projects as possible!” - Mispah
“ To give back to the community, especially to people who are less
fortunate but still deserving. To feel that good things can still
happen and that we can make a difference.” - Caitlin
“To serve those less fortunate than myself, to broaden my mind to
the needs of the world.” - Helen
“To do some good where I can.” - Lauren
“To be the difference I want to see” - Tate
“To give back to the community and leave my footprint
   on the world.” - Barry
