Editor's Notes

  1. The WYSIWYG module has made installation into Drupal much simplerDownload, unpack into sites/all/libraries , Enable, configureNo more hassling with random js files (e.g. fckeditor dir inside of fckeditor dir, edit file to enable buttons)However, it has to keep up with releases and changesTinyMCE issue, edit the .inc file in the modulejWYSIWYG, markItUp, Whizzywig – install probs, couldn’t resolve. I tried, I really did. Contact me if you have a strong favorite, can help me setup and want me to test it out.
  2. Scored each on a scale of 1 to 10, DQ’d those that I could not get installed.
  3. Ckeditor – clean install, br tag paste issue, best paste from word good docs and help guides including a drupal-specific pageTinyMCE – br tags, decent paste from word (lost 1 alignment in table), install took extra fixNiceEdit – install issues, button issues, paste from word problemsopenWYSIWYG – paste from word (post-paste) didn’t fully scrub, missing some common buttonsWYMEditor – promising standards-based editor, but because of its strict standards focus, lacks a few features on its own YUI – giant install file 78mb, paste from word
