ABSTRACT
Imagine if COVID-19 happened five or ten years ago.
Would we have been able to work remotely, in a way like we are capable of today? Would we
have been able to get crucial health updates, back-up our data or interact with friends – as we
can today? Probably not.
But it is possible today due to cloud infrastructure.
Cloud service providers are helpful in providing connectivity for people and businesses to
continue operating at some level.
INTRUDUCTION
 Cloud computing is a technology that puts your entire computing infrastructure in
both hardware and software applications online.
 It uses the internet, remote central servers to maintain data & applications.
 Gmail, Yahoo mail, Facebook, Hotmail, Orkut, etc. are all the most basic and widely
used examples of cloud computing.
 One does not need his own PC or laptop to check some stored mail/data/photos in
the mailbox but any computer with an internet connection since the data is stored
with the mail service provider on a remote cloud.
 The technology, in essence, is a geographical shift in the location of our data from
personal computers to a centralized server or ‘cloud’
TOP BENEFITS OF CLOUD TECHNOLOGY
 COST SAVING
 Time saving
 24 * 7 Availability
 Security
 All over functioning
TOP problem with the cloud technology
Limited features
downtime
Risk of data confidentially-
Level of security
List of best cloud computing companies
 AWS (amazon web services)
 KAMATERA CLOUD
 LINODE
 SERVER SPACE
 CLOUD WAYS
History of cloud computing
 In the 70s, the concept of virtualization made it possible for businesses to
use one or more operating systems in a totally isolated environment.
 the major breakthrough for cloud computing came in the year 1999.
 Later, in the early 2000s, Amazon launched their cloud services called
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
 In 2006, Amazon launched Elastic Cloud Computing (EC2) technology
that offers secure compute facility on the cloud according to the business
needs.
 In the later years, Google, Microsoft, and even Apple stepped into the
cloud computing fraternity that changed the momentum of growth of
cloud computing.
Evolution of Cloud Computing
 The Idea Phase-
This phase incepted in the early 1960s with the emergence of utility and grid
computing. Joseph Carl Robnett Licklider was the founder of cloud computing.
 The Pre-cloud Phase-
The pre-cloud phase originated in 1999 and extended to 2006. In this phase the
internet as the mechanism to provide Application as Service.
 The Cloud Phase- The much talked about real cloud phase started in the year
2007 when the classification of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS got formalized
Varieties of Cloud Computing
 Public Cloud
Examples of public cloud are Amazon EC2, Windows Azure service
platform, IBM’s Blue cloud
 Private Cloud
Example of private cloud technology is Eucalyptus and VMware.
 Hybrid Cloud
Netflix, Hulu, Uber and Airbnb all rely heavily on hybrid cloud data storage due to its on-
demand and pay-per-use features.
What is the Future of Cloud Computing?
 1. Increase Storage Capacity
 2. Enhanced Performance of Internet
 3. Modular Software Will Be Priority
 4. Internet of Things Along With Cloud Computing
 5. Data Shows How Future Changes
 6. Improvement in Cloud Services
 Infrastructure as a service
 Platform as a service
 Software as a service
 7.Security
 8. Modular Software
 9. Economic
THE TREND OF CLOUD COMPUTING AMIDST
COVID-19
There are some specific ways that cloud computing is helping manage businesses
during Covid19 times. These are:
a) Enabling a remote workforce to stay connected with each other
b) Providing easy access to online data backup solutions
c) Enabling collaboration efficiency among team members
How Cloud Computing Could Change in the
Next Decade:
 It began in the 1960s as network-based computing, which allowed two or more people
to work on one computer at the same time.
Today, it’s letting millions of people in far-flung corners of the world access a single
resource with their devices at once.
With the emergence of Artificial Intelligence and 5G networks, new applications for the
cloud will come about.
According to Forbes, about 83% of enterprise workloads will be done on the cloud by
2020.
Cisco predicts that this could shoot up to 94% in just a year.
Future Changes and Innovations In Cloud
Computing
1. AI Will Play a Bigger Role in Cloud Technology
2. Edge Computing Will Complement the Cloud
3. Cloud Security Will Become Stronger
4. Costs Will Be Lower
CONCLUSION
 The cloud technology has definitely come a long way over the past few years, and
has a promising decade ahead. The more organizations start to embrace the
technology, the best they can extract from the technology. There’s no doubt why
the next decade of cloud technology will not be as exciting as the last one
