Applications are accessed as a Service using traditional protocols like SOAP etc.

Virtualization Utility Computing Utility computing is a metered service of computing resources. Virtualization is the process by which the resources are abstracted as number of virtual resources including OS,server,DB,network. Ex.OS Virtualization is one in which the Virtualization software partitions the hardware and emulates to run with different OS. IaaS – Consuming InfraStructure as a Service PaaS – Consuming Platform related operations as Services SaaS – Consuming enterprise applications as Services
