API Strategy 101 provides an overview of APIs and recommendations for developing an API strategy. It notes that API usage is growing rapidly, with over 15 billion API calls per day. This growth is driven by increasing smartphone and connected device usage. It recommends that companies establish a digital strategy to leverage APIs and expose their services and data through APIs to engage developers, partners and customers on any device.
