What do developers care about? ● Deployment’s choice of monitoring software ● Which hypervisor is used underneath ● Scalability of the network layer ● Which storage system is used for volumes ● API quality and ease of use ● Feature velocity ● Portability CONFIDENTIAL MIRANTIS ©© M MIRIARNATNIST I2S0 210312 PAGE 10
What to do? 1. Focus on the APIs as the key to adoption 2. Invest in ease of use vs. even more flexible plumbing 3. Don’t move up the stack. Partner instead. 4.
