A Spatial Decision Support
 System for Wireless Local
             Area Network
       Researcher: Mr. Mongkon Tengrungroj
     Advisor: Asst.Prof. Kanda Saikaew, Ph.D.

 Limitations of study

Agenda
 KKU has 626 access points.
 KKU’s population and internet access need
  increase.
 KKU has wireless network monitoring
  system (https://cactiwifi.kku.net) ,but not
  serves for executives and users.
 No decision support system for
  administrators and executives.

Principle and reasons
 To implement wireless LAN monitoring
  system for administrators, users and
  executives.
 To implement a spatial decision support
system for KKU’s wireless local area
  network.
 To evaluate the performance of wireless
LAN monitoring system and a spatial
  decision support system.

Objective of the research
 Past, present, and future of decision
  support technology. [1]
 Spatial decision support systems: An
overview of technology and a test of
  efficacy[2]
 A Spatial Decision Support System for
  Planning Broadband, Fixed Wireless
  Telecommunication Networks [3]

Literature review
 Use of Open source Technologies for
  Enterprise Server Monitoring Using SNMP
  [4]
 Development of an Open Source Network
  Management & Monitoring Platform for
  Wireless Broadband Service Provider in
  Rural Areas. [5]

Executives’s view
                     3. - Where should I provide
                                             wi-fi services.
                                   4. - How about wi-fi activities.
                                           - How about user activities.

                                            Users’s view
                                            - Where are services area.
                                            - Where should I use wi-fi.

Research methodology
 Do not discuss network security issues
intrinsic to wireless data transfer or
  wireless network protocols
 Use only KKU’s wireless network and
users as the proof of concepts
