Joint MDR/EC SIG meeting Intros Background information on JISC/CETIS Aims of the day
JISC CETIS Service Service since August 2006 - launched November 2006 Partnership between Universities of Bolton & Strathclyde, Heriot-Watt and CRA Service advices on the strategic, technical and pedagogic implications of educational technology Provides strategic and technical advice to JISC e-Learning development programmes  Programme support Community building -SIGs
Overview: JISC CETIS Service Represents the JISC  on international standardisation initiatives (IMS, BSI etc) Works with the wider educational community to facilitate the use of standards-based eLearning, especially through Special Interest Groups Supports the current JISC eLearning Programme, e.g. eFramework, Design for Learning, & RRT
Special Interest Groups Accessibility SIG Assessment SIG Educational Content (EC) SIG E-Portfolio SIG Enterprise SIG Metadata and Digital Repositories (MDR) SIG Pedagogy Forum
JISC CETIS SIGs/Forums Metadata & Digital Repositories SIG, run by Phil Barker /Neil Fegen  (Heriot Watt): for people interested in the process of describing and sharing educational resources Educational Content SIG (ECSIG), run by Sheila MacNeill (Strathclyde): for people working with education al content related interoperability standards Accessibility SIG, run by Sharon Perry (Bolton): for people interested in supporting a learner's individual needs and preferences Assessment SIG, run by Rowin  Young (Strathclyde): for people interested in electronic assessment of student knowledge and learning
JISC CETIS SIGs/Forums E-Portfolio SIG ,  run by Helen Richardson & Simon Grant (JISC CETIS / Centre for Recording Achievement) : for people interested in e-portfolios and e-PDP (Personal Development Planning) Enterprise SIG, run by Vashti Zarach (Bolton): for people interested in learner data, course information and educational systems integration Pedagogy Forum, run by Lisa Corley (Bolton): for people interested in ensuring that the 'learning' is put into learning technology specifications
SIG Communication & web presence Blogs:  All JISC CETIS staff have workblogs, these are used to populate front page of JISC CETIS website. Discussion lists:  Each SIG has a JISCMail discussion list Wikis: Each  SIG has area on the JISC CETIS wiki - links to relevant standards, specs, projects etc, meeting archives etc.
