Concept of "technically connected activities" " For ancillary activity, technically linked to a core business  within one of the categories listed in Annex I of the Legislative Decree 372/1999, shall mean a business: (see Circular Min Amb. 13/07/2004) a) held by the same operator; b) the principal activity conducted on the same site  or a site adjacent and directly connected to the site of the primary means of functional technological infrastructure for the conduct of the principal; c) the details have some involvement with the technical procedures for carrying out the main activity.
Concept of "technically connected activities" So a plant can have: - Only one IEA (AIA); - One IEA (AIA) and other separate and sectoral permits;  - Two or more AIA (and any other separate and sectoral permits).
The "philosophy" of the IEA (AIA) see Recitals of the Directive 2008/1/EC (8) Different approaches to control emissions into air, water or soil  may promote the transfer of pollution between the various environmental media  rather than protecting the environment as a whole. (9) An integrated approach to pollution control is to prevent, wherever possible, emissions to air, water or soil,  taking into account the waste management and, at least,  to reduce them to a minimum to achieve a high level of environmental protection as a whole. (18) emission limit values, parameters or equivalent technical measures should be based on  Best Available Techniques (BAT) ,  without prescribing the use of a technique or specific technology, but taking into consideration the technical characteristics of the installation concerned, its geographical position and local environmental conditions. (24) ... the public should have access to information on the operation of the plants and their potential effects on the environment ...

The new IPPC Directive Approved (by the European Parliament in 2 ^ reading), on 07/07/2010,  the directive on emissions  which goes to update and bring together seven different Directives including Directive 2008/1/EC  (IPPC). The Directive sets stricter limits in 2016 for emissions  of nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide and dust. These limits, however, could not be applied to plants to cease all activities in 2023, or 17,500 hours of work after 2016. The new power plants and energy will have to comply with the new rules by 2012 , but there was an agreement on the possibility for Member States to use national plans for a number of transient combustion plants, including fossil fuels, and so you have until July 2020 to comply with new rules.
