WHAT’S NEW IN
ADOBE CREATIVE
CLOUD 2015
presented by
Photoshop CC 2015
With over 17 new features and
enhancements added to Photoshop in
this release, there is literally something
for everyone.
Linked Assets
Assets in your Creative Cloud library
can now be linked–this means when a
change is made to one of these assets,
the change is rolled out to your team
updating the asset(s) in any projects they
are used in.
This includes projects in Photoshop,
Illustrator or InDesign.
Artboards
Artboards are a welcome new feature for
those designing responsive or multi-
screen layouts in different sizes.
The benefit is that you can lay them all
out within a single document and see
them all at once.
You can even copy & share content
between artboards and export them all at
the same time or individually.
Adobe Preview CC
Adobe Preview CC is an iOS companion
app that lets you view your designs on
your target device as you work on them.
Whether you’re designing a mobile app
or a responsive web site, this new feature
will be a huge time-saver.
Performance
The Healing Brush, Spot Healing Brush
and Patch tools have all been updated
with Mercury Graphics Engine
enhancements.
Healing Brush results now show up in
real time and the other two tools are now
up to 120 times faster than they were in
Photoshop CS6.
Better Panoramas
By checking one box in the Content
Aware Fill options, you can now
automatically fill in the edges of your
stitched panoramas.
This will be a huge time saving feature for
landscape photographers.
Blur Gallery
The Blur Gallery filter, which enables you
to simulate shallow depth of field, now
lets you restore some of the digital noise
to areas that you’ve blurred, thus
enhancing the realism of the blur effect.
Content Aware Move
The Content Aware Move tool has been
updated with an option to speed up your
edits by giving you the option to
automatically Transform a selection after
you have moved it with the Content
Aware Move tool.
Seemingly simple, this is a welcome time-
saving feature.

Illustrator CC 2015
Adobe Illustrator CC 2015 gets over a
dozen new features including Linked
Assets, Adobe Stock, performance
enhancements and the new Safe Mode.
Auto Save
The auto-save feature is turned on by
default, but you’ll want to go in and tweak
your settings to your liking.
You can do that by going to
Preferences>File Handling & Clipboard
and then looking for the Data Recovery
section at the top.
Once you’ve got it set, Illustrator will save
copies of your work at the specified time
interval making it easier for you to get the
files back if Illustrator crashes.
Safe Mode
The crash recovery feature is also nice
because it will allow you to boot
Illustrator into a new Safe Mode.
Safe Mode allows you to start Illustrator
even if there’s a fatal-crash-inducing
event. You can even diagnose the
problem and hopefully correct it before
you restart the program again.
This is a great feature that you hope you
never have to use, but will be glad it’s
there if you do.
Performance
Adobe has finally brought GPU
acceleration to both Mac and PC
platforms.
Assuming you have a compatible GPU,
this means you’ll now be able to pan,
zoom, and scroll a lot faster in Illustrator.
BONUS: They’ve also increased the
zoom percentage to 64,000% over the
previous 6,400%.
Shape Builder
If you’ve watched any of Justin Seeley’s
Illustrator courses at lynda.com, you
know that he’s a big fan of the Shape
Builder tool.
Well, now that tool is even better
because you’re no longer limited by its
linear functionality.
Adobe has added the ability to free-form
draw with the Shape Builder, making it
easier than ever to merge or subtract
your vector objects.
CC Charts (Preview)
The final marquee feature of the 2015
release of Illustrator is the new CC
Charts integration.
This feature completely rethinks the
idea of charts in Illustrator, and it
provides you with some really interesting
ways of creating graphical
representations of your data.
Keep in mind, in the initial 2015 update,
this is simply a preview feature for now,
and so it’s not quite feature-complete.

InDesign CC 2015
Enhancements to Creative Cloud
Libraries, the integration of Adobe Stock
marketplace and Mercury Performance
System support are just a few of the
things that are new in InDesign CC 2015.
Adobe has also added the ability to place
images into tables, add shading to
paragraphs and added integration with
Adobe Comp CC.
CC Libraries
The CC Libraries panel works much the
same in InDesign as it does in Photoshop
or Illustrator, but with a few minor
adjustments.
For starters, you can now add InDesign
character and paragraph styles to your
CC Libraries, which should make
typophiles extremely happy!
Color Themes Tool
Also of note is the ability to add color
themes directly to your libraries using the
Color Themes tool in InDesign.
Now anytime you create a color theme
using this tool, there is a new icon that
allows you to instantly add it to the
current library you have selected.
Create Linked Assets
With the 2015 release, it’s now possible
to create linked assets within your
libraries. That means that you can have
an asset stored in the library and
dynamically update it via the Creative
Cloud and have it then update across the
board to all the apps that make use of the
libraries feature.
This is a huge improvement over the
previous generation of the libraries
feature.

Muse CC 2015
The latest update to Muse may seem
small on the surface, but it is not.
There are two major features that make
this a great release: the addition of
TypeKit web fonts and the new Muse
starter templates.
TypeKit
The integration of TypeKit and Muse
enables designers to break free from
the shackles of boring typography and
unleash their creativity onto the web just
as they do in print.
The best part is that Muse takes care of
all the coding stuff in the background.
All you have to do is pick a font, use it,
and hit the publish button. What could be
better than that?
Starter Files
If you need inspiration or a solid
foundation on which to build your
project, this update to Muse is for you.
The 5 new Starter Files follow several
distinct themes including personal
websites, photography portfolios,
restaurant landing pages, conferences
and event websites, and business-centric
sites as well.

Premiere Pro CC
The integration with Adobe Stock and
Adobe mobile apps continues in
Premiere Pro CC 2015 but it does’t stop
there.
A new Lumetri Color panel offering
powerful color correction along with
smoother transitions between jump cuts
rounds out the update offering.
Lumetri Color
The Lumetri Color panel is a new tool
that combines Adobe SpeedGrade CC
and Lightroom CC technologies to allow
you to adjust color and light within
Premiere Pro CC 2015.
You’ll be able to apply simple color
corrections or create complex Lumetri
Looks using intuitive sliders and controls.
Morph Cut
When you want to eliminate long pauses
from an interview, you’ll no longer have
to deal with awkward jump cuts or cutting
away to B-roll.
The new Morph Cut transition eliminates
this by using face tracking and frame
interpolation to create a seamless
transition in your projects.
Formats & Performance
Improvements to Adobe Mercury
Transmit promise to boost
responsiveness and playback reliability
on external high-resolution displays.
Adobe has also added native support for
the Canon XF-AVC and Panasonic 4K44
formats.
Adjust Video Duration
If you’re needing to adjust the duration of
a show to fit into a specific duration, the
new Time Tuner feature is for you.
Time Tuner, in the included Adobe Media
Encoder, will automatically add or remove
frames at scene changes, during quiet
audio passages and in sections with still
images or low visual activity.

• and more!
After Effects
By now, you’ve noticed a theme around
Creative Cloud Libraries and the new
Adobe Stock service–and yes, After
Effects gets these features as well.
After Effects CC 2015 also adds new
ways to preview your footage,
streamlined panel groups, a user
interface that is optimized for touch.
Character Animator
Adobe Character Animator combines
the characters you design in Photoshop
or Illustrator with your webcam to bring
them to life.
Character Animator applies your facial
and body movements to the 2D
character. Not only does it capture
movement, but it can be used to record
dialogue or a voice performance.
You can then export your animation to
After Effects.
Track Faces
If you need to make a selective edit (such
as color correction) on a person’s face; or
you want to track specific points, such as
someone’s eyes so you can change their
color, the Face Tracker feature will
provide you with a set of tools that makes
this incredibly easy to do.
