Currently as part of Drug Interaction check at the time of writing a prescription, the system performs a drug interaction check based on existing Medications and Patient allergies. As part of the OPV integration, OPV will be passing ICD-9 codes for the patient medical history. These codes will be mapped to Health Conditions in CSG EMR and would be included as part of the Drug interaction check. Also, the diagnosis codes identified as part of the current encounter will also be used for the Drug/ Health condition interaction check. Currently as part of Drug Interaction check at the time of writing a prescription, the system performs a drug interaction check based on existing Medications and Patient allergies. As part of the OPV integration, OPV will be passing ICD-9 codes for the patient medical history. These codes will be mapped to Health Conditions in CSG EMR and would be included as part of the Drug interaction check. Also, the diagnosis codes identified as part of the current encounter will also be used for the Drug/ Health condition interaction check. Going forward, the system will perform Drugs - Health Conditions interaction check in addition to existing Drug-Drug and Drug-Allergy interaction checks.
