How easy is it to be more creative?
Simply ask more ‘why’ and ‘why not’ questions…that is a great place
to start.
Is there any extra effort and energy doing so?
Thanks to Nicky Tillyer who had the original ideas
2. Answer to last question in first slide:
NO there is not……..
3. ! Many economists view creativity being
important for economic growth as it leads
to a recombination of elements to produce
new technologies and products.
! In our current information economy more
and more businesses are looking for
people with a greater capacity for creative
problem solving and thinking skills to
enable them to cope with the fast pace of
technological advances.
4. ! Creativity goes way beyond your ability to paint a
nice picture and towards challenging your whole way
of thinking about things.
! Studies show that creative people are more able than
most to live with uncertainty as they are able to
adapt and adjust their thinking to allow for the flow of
the unknown.
! Research has shown that the experience of creativity
is itself able to evoke emotion, and has revealed a
positive relationship between positive mood and
creativity. Creativity is fun and enjoyable…doing

5. ! Personal and Company Success today is
often the result of the connections made
! It is the creative thinkers who ask the
‘why’ and ‘why not’ questions and will
make the most meaningful connections.
! Taking time to enjoy creative pursuits is
one of the best investments you can make
and helps make the less creative parts of
your daily life more zestful!
6. ! Let go of judgment. You’ll have more fun, develop better skills and try
more often if you let the process be your guide. The outcome doesn’t always matter!
! Use what you have. If you wait until you can ‘afford’ the right supplies
you’ll never start. Cheap and cheerful means you are more likely to play. You will get too
scared to use of fear You will waste them! Waste away and hang the cost!
! Make time. Don’t just sigh and say “I wish I had time to be creative”, or “I don’t
have time to be creative” Just flipping well schedule it in. If you don’t make it a PRIORITY
it will never happen
! Try new stuff. Be on the edge of your creativity, it keeps your mind sharp for
other areas of your life too.
Don’t get comfortable.
Comfortable is the enemy of a creative life
