Naoki Fukasawa is applying for a job involving sound research in virtual reality. Where did I come from? University of Aizu Education In undergraduate: Computer languages(C, C++, Java, etc.), Computer science, etc. In master program: Sound perception, Spatial sound, etc.
What have I done? In Academic In undergraduate: • I Implemented program to produce Risset tones using MATLAB. • I have learned the arrangement to run experiment. →Recruiting people, Setting of environment, Analysis data etc. In master program: • Real-time implementation in virtual reality. (plan)
What have I done? In Extra-curricular activities: School Festival Executive Committee: About 50~60 members (Both undergraduate and master) School Festival(every October) About 5,000 people coming in two days. →This is one of the university promotional events. →We prepare this project from April.
What have I done? As senior student: I mainly advice to lower grade students the how-to of works. →Scheduling, Preparation, Communication skills etc. What I emphasized most: Have a meal with team members →To develop team work, we have to know each others’ idea, vision, etc. →We need a time to have a communication.
Why did I apply for this job? In the company’s website it says: • There is a department of researching sound in virtual reality. • Python or MATLAB as required knowledge. • Can have communication in English.
Why did I apply for this job? • The official language in company is English. • There are many foreigners in this company. • There is an environment to maintain English skill.
What is my strength? • Having Communication with people →Pull out people’s ideas. →If I don’t know, I would ask a question without hesitation • Trying to know people →From the opponent behavior, make a guess what he/she is thinking.
What is my strength? In business: For my opinion, I think the most important thing is communication skill. We work with not dogs, cats, or robots. We work with humans. To tell our ideas, we use words. You know words but if you can’t use it, it is useless.
What is my weakness? One weakness I want to work on: I like to talk, but I make people uncomfortable without noticing. →I want to choose words properly so we can discuss issues without getting uncomfortable. →There might be different ideas by country so I want to know that too.
