Working as a DevOps/VMWare & Linux System administrator. Having with 6.5 years of experience in the
field of Infrastructure with an exposure towards network protocols, Linux OS, Scripting, Web apps,
Datacenter Tools and products having following skill-set.
RJIL Tools and Automation.
RJIL intends to roll-out a PAN India network to offer 4G connectivity to facilitate the Digital Lifestyle
offerings to substantially large number of subscribers. To offer these Digital Lifestyle services, RJIL is
developing very large Internet Data Centers (IDC) spread across PAN India. These IDC’s will be the point
of convergence of multiple networks.
All IDCs and AG3 locations will be monitored and managed on a 24x7x365 basis from a central Network
Operations Center (NOC) based at RCP. The IDC Infra & Management NOC is an integral part of the
overall RJIL Central NOC.
Systems in IDC use to be racked/stacked and provisioned manually. In which admin gets network details
from network team, assign IP manually to connect console of the server. Configure other parameters or
firmware upgrade or OS installation use to happen manually. Enabling services or monitoring setup needs to
be done through scripts which need to be run manually again after OS installation. Lot of time and manual
effort is required in this process of provisioning. The automation implementation for systems provisioning.
It involves automation process as a whole and in phases like ILO Configuration, Firmware upgrade, Raid
Configuration, OS installation and setup monitoring and enabling services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Automation, Implementations and use of tools like Chef.
2. Having good experience on DHCP and DNS Protocols.
3. Worked on building simple programs for database [MySQL] and system operations using Shell.
4. Worked on Setting up the environment for Systems [Servers] and Virtual machine Provisioning.
5. Worked on Systems [Server] Provisioning for end to end automation – When the systems plugged
in to data center to it will be released to the customer. It includes DHCP discovery, RAID
configuration, firmware upgrade, and OS installation, Post Installation to enable the services like
Chef, HPOM, HPSA, Validation and hardening.
6. Worked on Virtual Machine Provisioning for end to end automation using shell script and VMWare
CLI utilities.
7. Worked on setting up environment of Chef for QA, Pre-Prod and Prod.
