Cliff Doerksen Time Out Rated: 2/5 Nov 17, 2011 Full Review Josh Rosenblatt Austin Chronicle Enchanting, perhaps, but a long, long way from meaningful. Rated: 3/4 Aug 5, 2023 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation These days, it plays as quaint and gloriously dated, an echo of a time when flawlessly-realized recreations of Edenic England were something worth striving for and films investors could be talked into. Rated: 3/4 May 13, 2021 Full Review Leigh Paatsch Herald Sun (Australia) Always accessible in a Downton-Abbey-goes-to-Play-School kind of way, as evidenced by Renée Zellweger's chipper portrayal of Potter as a bustle-skirted bundle of squinty smiles and sudden blushes. Dani G Just the type of film I was expecting. Not bad, but we've seen this before Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/13/24 Full Review John P As an artist I was surprised to learn Miss Potter not only came up with the stories of Peter Rabbit etc. but also did her own illustrations & found this film very delightful to watch, as it had a Disney type mood to it by adding animation effects to some of the scenes where her drawings took center stage & I thought the acting was perfect as well as the scenery & felt it should of done better at the box office than it did! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/03/24 Full Review Audience Member While certainly not the most groundbreaking biopic in the world and not as memorable as Babe, which was from the same director, Miss Potter is still a really well-done film with goid direction, well-realised production values, great performances - I think Renee Zellweger just wanted an excuse to pretend to be British again - and a tone that's sweet and optimistic without being saccharine making a tragedy that I genuinely didn't know about hit all the more harder. In other words, a movie that did a better job doing beloved author Beatrix Potter justice than two Peter Rabbit movies released a decade later. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review yannis a A Tribute To The Remarkable Miss Potter. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review michael t I really liked this- a straightforward and uplifting story for a change. I'm not a huge Renee Zellweger fan, but she was good in this. Also enjoyed seeing Ewan MacGregor. He did a great job in his role. A nice period piece. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Still charming... same as it was when i first watch it when I was a kid, which, I think, is the greatest thing you can get from a movie like this one, it throw you back, right into the quite afternoons of your childhood.
