Critics Consensus

The Invasion is slickly made, but it lacks psychological insight and thrills.

Nell Minow Movie Mom Rated: D Jan 24, 2012 Full Review Cliff Doerksen Time Out Rated: 1/5 Nov 18, 2011 Full Review Paul Arendt BBC.com Having established an effectively creepy mood in the first half, the film eventually degenerates into a muddled mess, with Nicole and Daniel Craig dodging zombies while popping amphetamines in a desperate effort to stay awake. We know how they feel. Rated: 2/5 Oct 16, 2007 Full Review Jason Shawhan Nashville Scene Audiences pretty much ignored this film in 2007, but way too much of it feels far too resonant in The Now, and it plays like the sharpest and coldest of prophecy. Sep 10, 2021 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com It's a safe bet that The Invasion will be invading local video stores in the not so distant future. Rated: 1.5/4.0 Sep 12, 2020 Full Review Nick Pinkerton Stop Smiling As straight-ahead, propulsive, reptilian-brain action, it "works" as often as not. But it's unworthy to stand with its predecessors. Dec 12, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

Vale apena assistir? sim Nota: 7 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/08/24 Full Review Dan R 2007's 'The Invasion' was another imagining of the original 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' story. SYNOPSIS: 'As a Washington, D.C. psychiatrist unearths the origin of an alien epidemic, she also discovers her son might be the only way it can be stopped.' With a packed cast 'The Invasion' should've really delivered a lot more than it ever did. Although this film does deliver in taking a different spin on a tried old story it becomes a muddled mess in it's second half It doesn't really carry the tension or even the horror of the three previous films but it's certainly a lot more polished overall as a film. It also gives Kidman and Craig the chance to exercise their acting chops in a genre of film we never see them in. The fourth movie incarnation of Jack Finney's novel is hardly a disaster. It's a watchable but unnecessary film. 6/10 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/12/24 Full Review Colin M People starting to act strangely suggests something may be affecting humankind. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/04/24 Full Review Vincent D Looks like a movie made in the 70's. No dialogue, no surprise, bad acting Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/26/24 Full Review Justin T There was no closure in this story. It ended too happily. It was not scary at all either. I just didn't care if they lived or died. The horror was lacking much too much. It was just too boring to ever be interesting. The lighting looked good. I wanted more scary monsters and big alien battles or something. Something violent anyways. Or something scary. Or epic. Basically anything could have made this better. It wasn't as good as the late seventies version called Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978). Probably wasn't as good as Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) either but I don't remember that film. Basically, this version was pretty boring. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/14/24 Full Review Snow K After shooting infected in pharmacy, main character can just drive away pretending to be infected. But noooooo, Hollywood need to be extravagant. They think that audiences want them to Michael Bay the entire ending scene. Burning car chase is stupid and unnecessary. Thank God it was a relatively short movie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/03/23 Full Review Read all reviews
