When I found out this film was in the works, I absolutely lost it. The first film is nothing short of cinematic masterpiece. Then I saw 2049 On IMAX. Lemme tell ya using one word; wow. That’s all I could muster upon walking out once the roll credits began. Easily belongs in the list of films that the sequel is just as good or better than the first. I definitely admit it’s just as good for sure! With a legendary visionary director at the helm and incredible cast telling the story, this film was destined for greatness. The film that practically started (or at least brought it to mainstream audiences) the cyberpunk-noir subgenre finally got a sequel to expand its thought provoking narrative. Slow burner at times and very philosophical, this film will make you ponder while also satisfying that action crave. Truly beautiful film.
