KSI and Jake Paul 's mega-fight has been called upon for years but it seems fans will have to wait even longer for it to happen.

The YouTube boxers have been rivals for several years as they first butted heads when influencer boxing broke into the mainstream. KSI plunged the fight into doubt by insisting he was done with boxing after losing a controversial decision to Love Island star Tommy Fury last October. The Brit has since changed his mind and will return to the ring later this year

Paul also lost to Fury at the beginning of last year but bounced back to winning ways by beating UFC legend Nate Diaz and unknown professional boxer Andre August. 'The Problem Child' is set to fight again in March against an unknown opponent as he will serve as chief support for a Puerto Rico event headlined by Amanda Serrano.

When asked by Mirror Fighting if putting money on KSI vs Paul happening this year would be a good bet, KSI's promoter Mams Taylor replied: "It’s a risky bet." Taylor admitted that he isn't a fan of Paul building up his professional record by fighting unknown boxers but wished the social media sensation nothing but the best.

"Good luck to him, If that’s the path he’s going it doesn’t interest me but I wish him the best. If and when a fight happens between him and KSI then we are on opposite sides of the fence and the drama ensues, but honestly I don’t wish bad on anyway. If that’s the path for him, then good for him," Taylor added.

Taylor's Misfits Boxing business partner and Wasserman Boxing promoter Kalle Sauerland named UFC legend Conor McGregor as a potential opponent for KSI if his fight with Paul doesn't happen. McGregor and KSI have been butting heads ever since they were both in attendance for Anthony Joshua's knockout win against Robert Helenius in London last year.

"That’s the fight that does numbers that nothing else can do it combat sports full stop. Whether that happens or not, there is Conor McGregor. That’s an absolutely massive one as well. It’s different to the traditional game because he can choose whatever he wants to do and he will take things at his own pace," Sauerland said."
