The former leader of the Labour Party and MP for Sedgefield was Prime Minister from 1997 to 2007. Blair was a strong supporter of US president George W Bush and joined the War on Terror, sending British troops to Afghanistan and Iraq. He was succeeded as Labour leader by Gordon Brown.
