Mr Draper worked with New Labour heavyweight Peter Mandelson in the 1990s and later founded and edited the website Labour List. He was later a psychologist and author.
He married then-GMTV host Garraway in 2005 and the couple have two children together. In 2020, Mr Draper became prominent in the news again when he was hospitalised with severe effects of Covid during the early stages of the pandemic.
After spending 10 weeks in a coma and more than a year in hospital, Mr Draper was eventually allowed to return home but with severely reduced mobility and crippling after effects of the illness.
In December 2023 he suffered a cardiac arrest and was readmitted to hospital. His death aged 56 was confirmed by his wife on January 5, 2024.
