Taylor Swift appeared to jab at some of her enemies, Scooter Braun and ex-boyfriend Jo Alwyn, during the Eras Tour in Cardiff.

The star played a mashup of two fan favorites — This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things and I Forgot That You Existed. During the former, she couldn't help but let out a lengthy laugh. During the song, she sings, "Here's to you because forgiveness is a nice thing to do."

The lyrics are meant to be immediately followed by a laugh, but Taylor took it to a new level on stage, showing off some serious candour. She took a long pause and chuckle away from the microphone, catching her breath, before going in on the expected laugh, saying, "Hahaha, I can't even say it with a straight face."

"[I] mean, considering recent new events? How are we surprised these were the songs chosen?" wrote a fan on X, formerly known as Twitter. The two songs are notorious for being a bit shady and nature and the timing of the mashup wasn't lost on fans.

Fans are side-eyeing Joe as she sang I Forgot That You Existed. After all, that song was one of the new on her Lover album which wasn't initially about him. However, amid their breakup and the timing of this article, some are wondering if she is using it to send him a message.

Joe reportedly isn't happy with the way things panned out in their breakup. A handful of songs on Taylor's The Tortured Poets Department are rumoured to be about the actor who she dated for several years.

A source told the DailyMail that he wasn't happy about her choice to release the album. The insider said: "He never wanted to say anything and was hoping it would all blow over, but it hasn't. Taylor has made a fortune off their breakup by forming an entire album around it. Meanwhile he has been cast as 'Taylor's ex.'"

Joe reportedly is upset that he can't go anywhere without being asked about the pop sensation. "Their romance was private – quite the opposite of her relationship with Travis [Kelce]. It was partly due to covid restrictions, but they also preferred it that way," claimed the source, bringing Taylor's current relationship into the mix.

While reports claim that he's still stuck thinking about her, regardless of if it's by choice, her lyrics suggest that he doesn't even cross her mind. Taylor sings, "I forgot that you existed / It isn't love, it isn't hate / It's just indifference."

Plus, fans think This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things might also be shading Joe. After all, she sings the lyrics, "Did you think I wouldn't hear all the things you said about me?" immediately following reports of him yapping about her.

Joe recently broke his own personal silence on the matter, telling the Sunday Times: "In thinking on what I was going to say, I would think and hope that anyone and everyone can empathise. … This isn’t a direct answer to your question, but just thinking about what I want to talk about.

"I would hope that anyone and everyone can empathise and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years."

On the other hand, Scooter, known notoriously for his feud with Taylor, recently announced that he would be stepping down and retiring from music management.

Taylor has insisted that Scooter 'stole' the masters of her songs from her, refusing to allow her to purchase them back. This led the star to re-record her old albums, dubbing them "Taylor's Versions."

This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things is from Taylor's album, Reputation, and is long believed to be about Kim Kardashian, and Kanye West who contributed to the public hate train built against her circa 2016. However, the suspicious timing left fans wondering if there might be a new meaning for the song. Her scathing mashup comes just days after his retirement announcement and also on the music mogul's birthday.

"Doing this as soon as scooter announced he’s done music managing," wrote a fan, connecting the dots. Another fan added: "Happy retirement Scooter."
