Firework Safety This Fourth of July 🎇 As we gear up for Independence Day celebrations, it's crucial to remind everyone about the importance of firework safety. Off-the-job injuries can impact not only our personal lives but also our work environment. Remember these key safety tips: Always follow the instructions on firework packaging. Keep a bucket of water or a hose nearby. Never relight a "dud" firework. Maintain a safe distance from the launch site. By being cautious and responsible, we can ensure a fun and safe holiday for all. 💬 How do you plan to encourage your colleagues and loved ones to practice firework safety this Fourth of July? Share your tips and strategies in the comments below! #NSCDivisions #FireworkSafety #IndependenceDay #WorkplaceSafety

#NSCDivisions is commemorating Juneteenth as a showcase of the strength in the American spirit to recognize wrong and set about making it right. On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas with the news that the more than 250,000 enslaved Black people in the state were free. This day came to be known as #Juneteenth, now officially a federal holiday. Celebrate with @NMAAHC: https://s.si.edu/44ZsPCZ. Looking back on a fun time at the National Safety Council’s (NSC) Spring Safety Conference & Expo in Rosemont, IL, held at the Donald E Stephens Convention Center just two weeks ago. The NSC Young Professionals Division, a part of the National Safety Council Divisions, really shined with an engaging luncheon and panel discussion. Big shoutout to my employer, Tradepoint Atlantic, for its support and luncheon sponsorship! We had the pleasure of hearing from Perry Logan, formerly with 3M and now an NSC Networks Leader, and Richard Fairfax, formerly Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and now NSC principal consutlant. Their insights into safety and career paths were both enlightening and inspiring. Huge thanks to NSC's Sarah Van Huis and Jessica Pack as well as my awesome fellow NSC Young Professionals Division leaders, chairperson Travis Parker from Lee Mechanical Contractors, Inc. and vice chairperson Laynnea Myles from L'Oréal for making it such a memorable event! #nscyoungpros

AIHA Future Demand of the Profession Survey: all Safety Pros are invited to participate. Developed by AIHA and with input from various allied associations, this survey is designed to help identify the current state of and the future demand for the occupational and environmental health and safety (OEHS) profession in the United States. In addition, it seeks to understand important knowledge areas, skills, and abilities for OEHS professionals. Questions have been adopted from a similarly focused survey conducted by NIOSH in 2011 titled “National Assessment of the Occupational Safety and Health Workforce”. Many thanks to the following organizations who have agreed to distribute to their professional networks: ABSA International, ACGIH, ASSP, AAOHN, ABOHN , ACOEM, BCSP, BGC, ISEA, NAEM, NSC, and Shirley Parsons. https://bit.ly/44zRq11
