INDIANAPOLIS (July, 2024) - The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with the Safety Engineers Association (SEA), based in Chennai, India, a collaboration set to advance safety standards and professional development in the safety, health, and environmental (SH&E) profession.
On behalf of BCSP and the BCSP Board of Directors, BCSP President, Mr. Ashok Garlapati is honored to sign this strategic partnership. Mr. Garlapati commented that “This partnership is an opportunity to act locally while thinking globally.” BCSP Chief Executive Officer, Christy Uden, commented further, stating “This partnership is a representation of the vision set by the BCSP leadership to foster global safety standards and continuous professional development.”
This partnership is the result of efforts between SEA President, Mr. N. Kumar, and BCSP India, Middle East, Africa (IMEA) Regional Director, Kavitha Prabhu's dedication to global safety and professional excellence.
The collaboration between SEA and BCSP aims to provide safety professionals with enhanced resources, information about certifications, and educational opportunities, reinforcing their commitment to maintaining high safety standards across various industries. SEA members and BCSP credential holders will benefit from shared expertise and a unified approach to professional development.
Safety Engineers Association (SEA):
SEA came to fruition in the year 2000. It is a registered body under the Societies Act 1975. This is a non-governmental organization working for enhancement of safety professionalism. The need for an association for the safety professionals was under consideration for a long time and it came into reality in the year 2001.
Initially, only about 50 safety professionals joined the association. But the association has grown steadily to have more than 780 members as of now.
Members are:
•HSE Professionals from all kinds of industries, including manufacturing, oil and gas, chemical, construction, power plant, steel plants, cement plants, mining, marine, metro dams & tunnel, IT.
•Directors of DGFASLI, factory Inspectorates, safety law enforcement authorities, and members from OHS governmental bodies.
•Professors / Lecturers of industrial safety Professors.
•HSE consultancy.
•Safety equipment manufacturers, suppliers & service providers.
•Students pursuing industrial safety from various universities and institutions.
