New Tools to Establish Your Voice with LinkedIn Newsletters

New Tools to Establish Your Voice with LinkedIn Newsletters

Newsletters continue to be one of the best ways for professionals to share their knowledge with others. In fact, more than 500 million professionals have subscribed to the 146,000+ LinkedIn Newsletters spanning a variety of professional topics, and daily newsletter readership has more than doubled year-over-year. Sharing your expertise in this way can help others grow in their career and create conversations that matter.

To make it even easier for you to connect with others and share your knowledge, we’ve made some exciting updates that I want to share with you:

Gain deeper insight into newsletter performance with enhanced analytics

As more people turn to newsletters to learn and connect, it's even more important for authors to understand who their audience is and how their content is resonating. To help, we're introducing newsletter-specific analytics, showing deeper insights on audience demographics and content performance.

Available to both individual authors and Pages with newsletters, we’ll show you how content consumption is trending over time, the audience you’re reaching with subscriber demographics, and advice for how to optimize for new audience growth. You can access newsletter analytics from the dashboard on your Profile or through a specific newsletter edition you want to dig into.

Save time and stay consistent: How to Easily Duplicate your Article Draft

As writers we all have our own style and formatting preferences we like to maintain across articles and newsletters. But constantly starting from scratch can be time-consuming and tedious.

Now, with one click you’ll be able to duplicate a previous draft and update it with your new content and imagery. This not only helps you stay consistent with your brand image but allows you to spend time on what really matters: creating great content. We’re rolling this feature out this month, so give it a try and let us know what you think.

Enhanced control over newsletter content

One of the most helpful features we hear from authors is the ability to easily preview your content before publishing or sharing a draft. Now, with an improved article preview, you can see an accurate preview of exactly what your article will look like on desktop before you hit publish.

We’ve also added streamlined author switching functionality when posting an article, making it easier to select whether you’re publishing as a member or from a Company Page, and whether the article is an edition within a newsletter or an individual article.

Maintaining a Safe Space for Professionals

As we build new tools for voices like you, we are always working to keep LinkedIn a safe community that fosters authenticity. One of the things we’ve heard from members is the importance of receiving quality content from real people - which is why being a trusted voice is crucial.

Earlier this year, we introduced enhanced verification options for members, helping you show your connections and audience that certain elements of your profile are what you say they are - and vice versa. Most recently, we’ve made it even clearer who has verified aspects of their Profile - like identity or association with a particular  workplace - with a badge that appears next to their name, building trust while bringing opportunity.

If you're looking for more ways to share knowledge, collaborative articles are a great way to voice your expertise and also grow your audience. You can learn more about some recent updates we’ve made to collaborative articles in this post from Lakshman Somasundaram.

Give these new tools a try and let us know what you think. As always, we love hearing feedback and input on features that will help voices create and connect. Whenever you need inspiration or tips & tricks on how to unlock opportunity, check out the LinkedIn Guide to Creating page.

I really like the analytics updates, but can we dream of being able to see who exactly opened / clicked each edition someday?
