Managing Your Business Just Got Much Easier!

Managing Your Business Just Got Much Easier!

Once upon a time, to manage a Facebook Page, you needed Admin-level permissions directly on the Page itself. This meant that you could see and access everything on the Page, as well as the names of anyone else working on it.

This may be fine in most cases where all of the Page management is done with in-house staff who all knoe each other, but with an increasing reliance on social media managers like myself, Facebook made changes to how Pages can be managed.

Enter Business Manager.

This is not a new concept at all, it's been around for some time, but I still get questions about it revolving around what it can do for you as a Business Owner.

In this post, I am going to headline the top 5 (in my opinion) reasons to use Business Manager.

  1. The ability to manage multiple different Pages, Instagram Accounts, Ad Accounts, Pixels, etc. from a single hub is one of the BEST features we as Social Media Managers could ask for. From the side of the business owner, they can choose to either give us full control of the Page or limit our access to a certain core set of features - the choice is theirs, depending on the scope of the job.
  2. I kind of touched on this in the last point, but the ability to limit specific users' access to certain assets (such as Pages) is built-in. We don't like to admit it, but sometimes people working for a company can go rogue, and keeping your Pages, Ad Accounts, and Instagram Accounts under a very specific chain of command that you designate means it's much easier to end working relationships; with a click of a button rather than a Page held for ransom.
  3. If you're a private kind of person, when signing up for a Business Manager Account, you are asked to make a Profile for use in the Business Manager ecosystem. Yes, these are linked directly to your Facebook Profile, but all anyone working in that Business will see is the name you entered when you signed up. Profile details are never shared between those working within the same Business Manager Account.
  4. Directly within Business Manager, you can see an at-a-glance view of the performance of your Pages, as well as access any or all of them that live within that Business. Naturally, for a more detailed look, you'll need to access the Page itself, but it is most certainly helpful to be able to get a small bit of information from your dashboard.
  5. Here's a big one - When you're working within Business Manager on a Page, it will bring you to a modified Facebook (business.facebook.com) that brings you to and from your Pages without reliance on your newsfeed and Profile. So yes, it helps you stay on track and keeps your newsfeed hidden from you for as long as you're working from that domain. As someone with ADHD, I'll take all the help I can get to keep me on track.

All of this said, not every business needs a Business Manager Account, but if you have multiple different Pages, Accounts, or people working on your Social Media, you might find utility in it, for the sake of keeping full control over your assets, if nothing else.

Many of you are probably already using Business Manager, but if not, we'd like to hear from you. There are many ways you can make your business run smoother with a Social Media Manager's toolbelt at your disposal.
