FILL IN THE BLANK: My favorite part about taking contract roles is _____. Experience. I have been doing contract work for at least 7 years. The different accounting softwares and the process for the industries I worked for has been a learning experience. Not to mention I learned I am a team player who works independently, flexible and adaptable most settings and with people. Contract work you have to be a self starter who isn’t afraid to take on new challenges.
FILL IN THE BLANK: My favorite part about taking contract roles is _____Building relationships. My super power is my ability to foster relationships. I've been able to build a solid foundation of providers that trust me and believe in my abilities, so much so, I have more providers as contacts in my phone and if there are any issues they know they can call, text or send carrier pigeons and I'm there to assist.
Opportunity to make a difference in more organizations. Taking a contract means you can share best practices across industries and disciplines, ultimately giving greater value to those around you and improving their outcomes.
Compensation. It’s usually higher than full time roles. It also tends to accelerate beyond the typical 3% raise in most companies, which doesn’t even meet inflation, meaning you lose money every year you stay, Most contracts are 6-12 months and have a potential for renewal. Working as a W2 contractor also comes with health benefits, and sometimes 401k as well.
None, the wait between contracts tends to be too long, even with the promise from the recruiter that they will keep me working. I would love to have a FT permanent position
Wait.... I have to get one first.

1wNone. Contractual employees when working on client site are treated differently than full time employees. There is so much of bias. Most of the Contracts dont have safety net, and can end anytime without even a minute of notice. It is worse than layoff. Most of the contracts dont have PTO and taking Long PTO for family reasons makes the client drop your contract. There is no Client and contractual employee transparency when it comes to clear communication regarding basic employee requirements.
