This opinion piece from co-authors who know what they're talking about is spot on. "Thus, we think the current civil service system is badly in need of reform. But the blueprints offered by both left and right are problematic. One side is firmly rooted in a status quo that (inadvertently or otherwise) impedes accountability, and the other could end up politicizing the very civil servants who should be politically neutral." "We think there is some merit in both points of view. However, as members of a bipartisan group of former national and homeland security, diplomatic, intelligence and law enforcement officials who have served both Democratic and Republican presidents, we think there is a “third way” that preserves all that is right with our civil service but also addresses what almost everyone agrees is wrong with it." #defense #nationalsecurity #intelligencecommunity #civilservice #governmentreform #government

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin faced questions about privatized barracks oversight during a recent congressional testimony, but sidestepped the issue. While lawmakers expressed concerns about privatizing barracks due to past issues with privatized family housing, Austin emphasized the importance of investing in the right kind of housing for troops and allocating resources for maintenance supervision. The Pentagon's fiscal 2025 budget request includes $1.1 billion for new barracks, $2 billion for government-controlled family housing, and $171 million for oversight of privatized family housing. The issue of living conditions in military housing has gained attention in recent years due to reports of mold, pest infestations, and other unsanitary conditions. Stay tuned for the House Armed Services Committee's military quality-of-life panel report addressing housing conditions and proposed fixes in the near future. #Pentagon #CongressionalTestimony #PrivatizedBarracks #MilitaryHousing #MilitaryNews #DefenseSecretary #TroopHousing

Do not fall for this BS as Biden has no power to arrest or do anything, they want you to all go there and fight so they can arrest you like Jan 06, do not fall for this BS as it's a The White House trap. Arresting a state governor by the federal government is a highly unusual and contentious scenario. The idea of arresting a governor for non-compliance with a Supreme Court decision raises significant constitutional and political questions. The federal government generally works within the legal and constitutional framework to resolve disputes with states. The relationship between the federal government and state governments in the United States is complex and governed by the Constitution. The Supremacy Clause in Article VI of the Constitution establishes that federal law, including decisions of the Supreme Court, is the supreme law of the land. However, the process for addressing a situation where a state official refuses to comply with a Supreme Court decision is not explicitly outlined in the Constitution. Typically, disputes over the enforcement of federal law, including Supreme Court decisions, are resolved through the legal system. The federal government may take legal action, such as filing lawsuits or seeking injunctions, to enforce its laws. In extreme cases, federal authorities may use their powers to ensure compliance. In practice, political and legal processes are likely to unfold before reaching such an extreme scenario, and it would depend on the specific circumstances, legal arguments, and political considerations at play. The president does not have direct authority to arrest a state governor; such actions would typically involve legal proceedings and the involvement of the Department of Justice.

🇺🇸 More than 40% of US voters believe second civil war "likely" in next five years: poll Forty-one percent (41%) of respondents believe that a second US civil war is likely in the next five years, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll released Thursday. The figure includes 16% of respondents who believe that a second civil war is very likely, the poll report said. However, nearly half of respondents, 49%, believe that a civil war is not likely within the next five years, including 20% who believe it is not likely at all, the poll report said. Ten percent (10%) of respondents are unsure, the poll report added. A greater proportion of respondents believe that a civil war is more likely to occur if US President Joe Biden is reelected than if former US President Donald Trump wins the White House — 37% and 25%, respectively — the poll report said.
