Last month, Attorney Frederick Santucci had an opportunity to speak to a group of seniors at the Wellsboro Active Living Center about basic estate planning. The attendees had plenty of questions and found the presentation quite informative. Thanks to the Area Agency on Aging for the Counties of Bradford Sullivan Susquehanna and Tioga for the invitation and opportunity to speak! If you are a part of a group, whether a private for-profit company, a nonprofit, a government organization or just a local community-based informal group, that would like to hear a presentation on an elder law-related topic, feel free to reach out to us at info@paeldercounsel.com, or fill out a brief form on our website. We'll get back to you and make every attempt to provide a speaker to your group. https://lnkd.in/dkUpwdCW

It's #lightheartedFriday, midweek holiday edition when probably lots of people are otherwise off today and enjoying a four-day (or longer) weekend! If that accurately describes you - great! We hope you're enjoying the time off and the nice summer weather! Many of us are taking today off as well, but our offices are open, should any estate or long-term care planning needs arise. Ideally, no one would have a health emergency that potentially brings about an estate planning crisis (due to a lack of planning) over a beautiful weekend like this, and we certainly hope that is the case, but unfortunately, we don't get to choose when emergencies happen. It's always better to plan ahead for the emergency. Learn more about what that entails by checking out our podcast. It's a great educational listen on your way to or when you're on the beach! Because if you need to hear more about an unpleasant topic like estate planning, why not at least do so in one of the most pleasant places you can find? https://lnkd.in/dskxcwr

Happy Monday! This week we're spotlighting our executive director, Sarah Kehres, who we've had the pleasure of working alongside since 2013 (transitioning into her current role in 2017)! Sarah's favorite part of her job is helping our employees succeed and grow in their positions while providing the best service to our clients. A fun fact about Sarah is that she wanted to be a marine biologist growing up! But, seeing as she doesn't enjoy being outside very much, she figured an office position would be a better fit for her. She still loves going to the beach! When asked about her firm inspiration, Sarah couldn't choose just one person: "Being in a management position at the firm, I interact with all employees at the firm and each one inspires me in different ways. We have a lot of very passionate people that really connect to the firm’s mission of serving clients and ensuring the best quality service for them." A quote from Attorney Julieanne Steinbacher: "Sarah's leadership skills have flourished over the years she's been with us. Her dedication and unwavering commitment to our mission is unparalleled. She's the epitome of excellence in executive leadership, and we're grateful she's part of the team."

In this episode, a recording of a seminar originally presented live in February 2024, Attorney Frederick Santucci (Pat Santucci) and long-term care planner Tammy Zilske help you discover the importance of pre-planning an estate before a catastrophic healthcare crisis happens. This will help you safeguard your loved ones from potential consequences and hardship in the future. Pat and Tammy discuss basic estate planning documents such as wills and powers of attorney, inheritance taxes, trusts and how they can be used to not only protect assets but also distribute them according to a pre-determined plan, and also briefly summarize long-term care options and how to pay for them.
