My first visit to ormeau labs / baths in Belfast. Beautiful place, wonderful people, ambitious teams. When I left the building I noticed it's across the road from the Limelight, which I last visited late night ~15 years ago for a dose of hard rock or metal, and emerged into a dark quiet end of town to spend an hour and a half looking for a taxi. I bet a taxi wouldn't take long these days!
🌟 WEEK 3 ROUND-UP / AI WEEK🌟 📣What a week for our amazing Founder Labs teams! ⚙️We kicked off with Ryan Donnelly, co-founder of Enzai, joining us for our first founder fireside chat. His insights set the tone for an exciting and opportunity-filled week! 📲On Tuesday we had the pleasure of hosting Laura Richards FCIPR for a fantastic workshop on Glide. We explored the intersection of NoCode, AI, marketing, and PR to expand our start-ups. 💭Wednesday was a real highlight, as some of our cohort attended the Ormeau Labs breakfast morning with Sarah Friar - what a surreal opportunity! 🚀Our Wednesday continued as some of the team attended Digital DNA for a panel on the start-up landscape in N.I- it was truly inspiring to connect with so many innovative minds at our booth and share our vision for the future of tech and start-ups. 📈Today, we had the pleasure of a deep-dive into AI and future trends with Sean Blanchfield from NDRC, discussing our cohort's ambitious plans for the future! Here's to another week of growth and learning for our Founder Labs teams...watch this space 👀

Dylan Collins and I sat down to record a podcast about the early history of Demonware, the video games tech company we founded 20 years ago and sold to Activision. We had ring side seats to the mainstream emergence of online gaming. What an adventure! Links plus a transcript here: https://lnkd.in/e8W9vH4J Feat. I think we managed to piece together about 70% of the demonware origin story into this podcast, including a lot of pieces I had nearly forgotten. I'm looking forward to people reminding us what the 30% we're forgetting about is.
This was a ridiculous amount of fun to do with Sean Blanchfield: the oral history of Demonware and how it influenced online gaming over the last decade (or two!)

I was privileged to spend the last few months working with some amazing founders in the NDRC accelerator programme in Dogpatch Labs. Accelerator programmes should never be "entrepreneur school". But they can raise ambition, prep operations for scale, and connect you into a world-class network of peers, mentors, advisers and investors. It was incredibly rewarding to help make these kinds of high-impact contributions to our teams. This is made possible by the magic of Dogpatch Labs and the unbelievable flow of entrepreneurs, operators and investors who pass through its doors, and who make their time available to pay it forward. Applications are now open for the H2-2024 Summer programme, a hybrid programme tailored to you, investing €100k on an uncapped basis. We especially encourage applications from startups based outside of Dublin, or entrepreneurs using AI to scale a previously unscalable type of business. We've redesigned the application form so it's fast to complete and convenient for your AI assistant. Let us be the wind at your back!
