Sacramento City Unified School District’s Post

The 4th of July is quickly approaching, and Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District wants to remind you that each year serious injuries, deaths and millions of dollars in property loss occur from fires sparked by fireworks. The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors adopted changes to the Sacramento County Code on April 9th to provide additional protections for our schools and parks, in addition to the American River Parkway. There is a $10,000 fine for using fireworks at schools, parks, and on the American River Parkway. Metro Fire has valuable information on safe use and disposal of fireworks, how to report dangerous fireworks, and 2024 public display locations, and where to drop off unwanted or dangerous illegal fireworks.
