the photo taken by my PhD supervisor Céline Mougenot (PhD) at our ceremony from the stage sometimes people ask me about advice if they should take on doctoral research or not, I always say, look who's the supervisor, its the person who will lead you throughout the dramas, support you when you get reviewers' bashing feedback, become someone you'll spend the next 5 years with. I couldn’t be more lucky to have Celine being that person, she was the one who welcomed me to Imperial College London. We would run into each other dropping our toddlers in the university's nursery. We would meet every week before the pandemic, and she would inspire me to apply to conferences and journals from year 1. Her favourite one - DESIGN, at which we got a reviewers's award for my first ever paper. She would be on midnight calls with me rebuttling resubmissions. Most importantly she would back all my wildest ideas, applying to Design Studies, using neural networks for a theoretical paper. Sometimes I'd go off with biblical references in papers. When I said I want to apply to a computer science conference she helped me finding collaborators. We ended up with a study with IBM Watson using emotional AI. It took 5 years to finish a PhD, and a lot of people who had been sharing this pain with me. Everyone in the department, Pelin Demirel - my second supervisor who also welcomed me with teaching the Enterprise Roll Out module, my other research fellow colleagues and other academics who helped reviewing my papers, and a supervisor who made this all happen - thank you.
