What’s one character trait you need for success? A thirst for knowledge is what stands out for former Slack CPO Noah Desai Weiss. “Being incredibly intellectually curious,” and then “following that curiosity and being very genuine about it, is a superpower,” says Weiss. “Channeling that curiosity in a way that can help push the team's thinking can help facilitate stronger, more informed decision-making.” Which attributes do value the most in your industry? Tell us in the comments. #BuildingOne, a podcast hosted by LinkedIn's Chief Product Officer Tomer Cohen, features insights from top product leaders. What is missing in this post is a definition of success. Simply stated, success is *accomplishing what you set out to accomplish!* And different character traits will facilitate… or negate… anyone’s “success”… depending on what that person is trying to accomplish.

I completely agree with Noah Kagan, Desai Weiss's sentiment that intellectual curiosity is indeed a superpower. In the digital marketing landscape, the same principle applies. Our industry evolves at such a rapid pace that continuous learning is not just a desire but a necessity for success. Just as curiosity guides product development in enhancing features or solving problems, it similarly drives us marketers to experiment with new strategies, stay abreast of SEO updates, and explore innovative ways to engage our audience. Thus helping us make data-driven decisions that can bring about effective results. I also admire LinkedIn's initiative through #BuildingOne podcast to share insights from industry pioneers. It’s an excellent platform for professionals across fields to expand their knowledge and grow together. Looking forward to more insightful discussions like this on LinkedIn! 🚀

Wholeheartedly agree about curiosity and being a sponge of knowledge. Other characteristics to be successful are being self-aware, risk-tolerant, disciplined, and empathetic, with an unmatched work ethic.

You only need one trait to be successful, Never allow your past to be the best part of your life.

Being curious signals we don't know everything. So curiosity has to be rooted in self-worth. If we're not confident of our own worth, we tend to protect ourselves by pretending to know everything.

Successful with only one strong character trait? Impossible! Might be enough to win a battle, but not a war.
