Vay goes Belgium 🇧🇪 We are happy to announce our partnership with Ush 🚘 Ush plans to use Vay’s teledriving technology to launch remotely controlled cars in Belgium this year 🚀🚀🚀 Ush aims to develop successful ventures in the new mobility space while improving the safety and efficiency of shared mobility in Belgium. The startup is backed by D'Ieteren Auto, a company active in automotive distribution and retail. Max Levandowski from Ush gives an insight into a promising future use case: "It would be very beneficial for D'Ieteren's car sharing company Poppy Mobility to use the teledrive technology. It would be a huge advantage if we could deliver the cars to our users' doorsteps. And from an operational point of view, it would be great if electric cars could be driven to the charging station by the teledriver or removed if they are parked incorrectly." “We are very excited about the partnership with Ush," says Justin Spratt, CBO of Vay. "There are several vectors of value for both companies, from private-ground people movement through to Carshare and Car Rental. Will explains the impact that car sharing has on the environment - specifying that on average, every 1 shared car on a street results in 10 people deciding to not own a car. He dives into the specifics of building a two-sided marketplace and why starting geographically niche was the key to success and how they grew the business to eventually be acquired by Uber for an estimated $50 million.
