I created a DTC Reddit 7 days ago. It’s a great little community so far. Topics are Klaviyo Shopify Facebook ads, #cro UX/UI influencer marketing, SEO, and anything to sell goods over the ether. I’ve learned a lot from Reddit over the years. Lately, I’ve noticed a lot of the subs don’t let you do stuff that I think is necessary: post screenshots post links talk about your work via case studies. Everyone on Reddit thinks anybody who is a specialist or good at a particular skill and wants to talk about their email marketing, content creation, conversion rate skills, or media buying is spamming the sub. Well, I’m not a huge fan of spam either, so don’t spam the sub, but if you’re in DTC and you have skills head over there, it’s a pretty neat place. Seven days, and we are closing in and on 80 members. Which is fun for me. https://lnkd.in/gKnj5s_9

I have this little site as my hobby. It’s on Shopify bc I like the platform, and it’s easy for me to manage it there. We don’t sell anything. The site is DTCMKG.com I built it for startup DTC brands to use as a resource for agencies, Saas products, and learning resources. Farhat Mahi built it. He did a great job on it. It came out exactly as I had explained, and the work was done lickety-split. He’s also done some non-Shopify site work for others I know. If you need a site, he’s a great resource. His contact info is also on the site.

Thanks also to PostPilot Michael Epstein and +Drew Sanocki for the invite to a panel on direct mail. Thanks also to Nik Sharma for moderating. I was a bit nervous, but it was a ton of fun, and I loved the product. Listening to David Baker from Beekman 1802 and Jordan Sack from GOAT Food gave me some good ideas. Thanks also to GROW fantastic event.

Too many people that do what I do are afraid of salespeople. Thinking their inbox will be jammed when they ask a public question. They don’t want to take cold calls, cold emails, do meetings. Sure, I get it. Everyone is busy. Meeting with all those selling their SAAs/agencies takes time. Going through proposals, determining what could work, and onboarding new SAAs/agencies is work. Companies/consumers benefit from new products. Someone needs to learn the features and benefits to sell that. Good salespeople need to be smart enough to find products that work.

GROW pushing for a johnny promotion. Think that CEO role is filled already by the founders.lol they probably love that. *CMO. PostPilot thanks for the invite, glad to talk about how we use your product. Been a great help to us in leveraging the list we have in Klaviyo of suppressed profiles it’s hard for me to think of another marketing project I executed with such high return on investment.

Agencies and DTC freelancers. I have a list of people that I have used to grow the digital marketing of a brand to 8 figures from a very low #. That list used to be easy to get on. You would work with me and make the list. Easy. But these days it’s not easy to work with me. There is a long line of agencies, that want to work with me. Some months our marketing budget is 500k. Company is about 4 years old. Everyone want to work with fast growing exciting startups. I am of of the folks that considers retainers for an 8 figure brand. So I’ve created a way to get on the list. https://lnkd.in/e2uq2_6a
