Unlocking Value: Navigating Supply Chain Resilience in 2024. Learn how Infosys Portland is addressing global uncertainties, diversifying supply bases, and fostering risk-literate maturity in procurement functions to create an impact.
Infosys Portland understands the importance of what to focus on today to create strong #procurement and #supplychain functions for the future. Over the next few weeks will be sharing what is #trending in 2024 and what you need to focus on to unlock value. Trending in 2024: Supply chain resilience The pandemic exposed the vulnerabilities of global supply chains, shifting organization’s focus from cost savings to strategic importance. Companies are now diversifying their supply base, optimising inventory buffers, and improving visibility. The global landscape is rife with uncertainty, fueled by ongoing geopolitical issues, fluctuating economies, and the lingering effects of COVID. Elections occurring in a record number of countries in 2024 could lead to policy and regulatory changes, adding to this uncertainty. The strategic response... Procurement functions need to anticipate challenges proactively and facilitate informed decision-making. This requires a broader perspective and a more holistic approach to supply chain management, marking a significant paradigm shift for established procurement functions. Further, procurement teams need a level of “risk literate” maturity, capable of quickly identifying, evaluating, and responding to rapidly changing situations. Building into the procurement team, the capabilities and culture around agility and foresight are key to successfully managing these uncertainties.

Supply Resilience Practice Lead | Procurement | Supply Chain | Scenario Planning | Reliability Engineering | Category Management | Network & Inventory Optimisation
We’re seeing ‘risk literacy’ increasing within Procurment and Supply functions as well as within the C-Suite, but in Australia it’s not developing nearly fast enough. Due to our geography and geopolitical exposure, Australian businesses are exposed to significantly higher risk than their European or US counterparts, and yet we see slower adoption of supply resilience as a business objective.

Private equity firms are increasingly recognizing the importance of efficient sourcing and procurement practices as a way to significantly boost value creation across their portfolios and drive EBITDA. This approach focuses on optimizing spend throughout a deal's lifecycle, starting with due diligence and examining operational costs. Deep analysis of data and supplier agreements helps identify potential savings opportunities and helps realize attainable synergies using volume and scope leverage, vendor consolidation and supply chain efficiencies. Through Infosys Portland Andrew Jarvis Anthony Cappelleri Jeremy Began Bernie Donachie, we have been working with Private Equity Operating teams across the deal lifecycle to create actionable strategy in the pre-deal phase, direct negotiations, implement agile sourcing, technology setup and designing the procurement operating model in the transaction phase and benefits tracking, complex technology transformation, category optimization and TSA closure in the post deal phase. Project and change management run like clockwork across the lifecycle phases as well. We’ve seen great value with ~15% savings in supplier spend, an average of 12x ROI and 40-50% process cost reduction. Soft benefits like stronger supplier relationships, improved customer service and reduced risk are delivered in parallel. #infosysportland #businessoptimization #efficiency #costreduction
