We're proud to support Armed Forces and Reserves Day! 🎉 HORIBA MIRA is thrilled to have sponsored the 2024 Army Cadet Charitable Trust UK (ACCT) Excellence Awards, celebrating the outstanding achievements of the Army Cadet Force (ACF). This year's event, held on 14 June in London, highlighted the crucial role the ACF plays in developing young people across the UK. We were honoured to sponsor the inaugural Fundraising Awards. Our own Mark Rogers, Facilities and Maintenance Manager and army veteran, and Richard Batho, Senior Manager Project and Customer Group, represented HORIBA MIRA at the ceremony. The ACCT noted: “It was a heartwarming and celebratory event, recognising the outstanding achievements of Army Cadet Force cadets and adult volunteers in 2023. We are immensely proud of them and extend our gratitude to our donors for their support.” With more than 135,000 cadets and 25,000 adult volunteers across the UK, the Cadet Forces provide invaluable opportunities for young people to build life and career skills. The ACF community consistently goes above and beyond, making a positive impact in society. Richard Batho said: “It was fantastic to be part of this awards ceremony and inspiring to see the amazing achievements of all the cadet and volunteer winners, especially those in the Fundraising category, sponsored by HORIBA MIRA. The values and behaviours promoted have such great synergy with both society and our business culture.” We are immensely proud to support such an inspiring organisation and look forward to continuing our partnership. #ArmedForcesDay #ReservesDay #ArmyCadets

What does it take to build the UK's premier Passive Safety Centre Crash Facility? Our time lapse cameras have been on high alert for the last six months, capturing all the developments as our extended and re-modelled crash facility takes shape at our headquarters in Nuneaton. The groundworks for the facility, which will double the runway length to 170 metres and enable car-to-car crash events to be simulated for the first time in the UK, got underway last October. We'll be officially opening the facility to our OEM customers, Tier One suppliers and technology developers in September. #SaferJourneys #PassiveSafetyCentre #VehicleSafety #HORIBAMIRA

Insights from two members of the HORIBA MIRA team are featured in the latest issue of Transport Engineer Journal as part of a story about predictive maintenance and the implications caused by the adoption of alternative powertrains in the #CV sector. David Blanchard CEng CMgr, our Team Leader for Performance and Durability, and Nick Tebbutt, our Head of Global Strategic Sales – Vehicle Technologies, both give their thoughts and highlight how we're working with delivery companies to predict when light CVs will need to be maintained to reduce the need to have excess vehicles on a fleet. We're happy to be heading to the British Motor Museum on 11 July to present at the AESIN Conference. Alejandro Trueba, our Senior Engineer in Connected and Autonomous Vehicles at HORIBA MIRA, will be speaking to delegates about the merits of our project CERTUS-developed automated closed-loop toolchain which has been created to reduce the complexity, time and cost associated with the Verification and Validation of ADAS and AD systems. How does the closed-loop toolchain, which aims to reduce AD testing costs by 40%, work? It creates, selects and executes scenarios in closed loop. The performance of the System under Test (SUT) is assessed on each concrete scenario and is aggregated to the previous results to select the next concrete scenario. This allows for an efficient testing of the problem space.
