The Merneptah Stele is a stunning #artifact, a black granite record of the victories of a #pharaoh of the Egyptian New Kingdom. But this stele also references the ancient #Israelites, the only reference of its kind in #Egyptian history. Can it corroborate the Old Testament of the Bible?

However it is likely that they were initially Sumerian-dominated administrative centres. In the late 26th century BC, Eannatum of Lagash, then the dominant Sumerian ruler in Mesopotamia, mentions "smiting Subartu" (Subartu being the Sumerian name for Assyria). Similarly, in c. the early 25th century BC, Lugal-Anne-Mundu the king of the Sumerian state of Adab lists Subartu as paying tribute to him.[10]

EVIDENCE OF LAST JEWISH REVOLT/GALLUS REVOLT FOUND IN LOD, ISRAEL (351-354 CE). For the very first time, evidence has been found in Lod from the Gallus Revolt, the last Jewish resistance against Roman rule. The dramatic discovery – a large public building, in whose foundations a 1650-year-old hoard was hidden, will be publicized in a new book commensurate with the annual Central Israel Region Archaeological Conference, open to the public free of charge. An excavation on Nordau Street in Lod, led by the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by the Lod Municipality, uncovered a public building from the Late Roman—Early Byzantine period that suffered violent destruction. Its foundations held 94 silver and bronze coins dating between 221—354 CE, which were deliberately placed there – in the hopes of returning to collect them when the situation would calm. The latest coins are dated from the time of the Gallus Revolt (351-354 CE). Though written evidence is sparse regarding this revolt, there are texts reporting that major Jewish communities such as Lod, Zipori and Tiberias were destroyed by the forces of Roman Ceasar Flavius Constantinus Gallus. Friends, if you take the time to do the research you’ll discover something. Archaeology is without exception supporting the historicity of the Bible. Events, people, and places that are recorded in the scriptures are being verified. Has everything that is part of the historical record in the Bible been confirmed? Of course not. Through the passage of time and decay, some things will never be proven. But there has not been a single archaeological discovery that has been in contrast to what is written in the Bible. Those discoveries that appeared to argue against it were later proven to be incorrect. Here is the point. The eyewitness accounts of those who recorded events in the Bible are being proven through archaeology AND through investigate means. You do not have to set aside reason, intelligence, or logic to be a Jesus follower. Nothing in creation has been found that truly contradicts the Bible, on the contrary, discoveries continue to affirm its accuracy. So follow Jesus without hesitation, and have no fear of anyone who denies its truth. Those who do are simply unaware of all that has been discovered.
