Earlier this month, Epic Reads, Avon, and Harper Voyager hosted #ShelvesAndTheCity, a first-of-its-kind event dedicated to the book community. This unforgettable weekend in New York City brought together dozens of influencers to celebrate their shared passion for books. The festivities included a bookstore tour, author signing, cover reveal, movie screening, dance party, and—of course—an abundance of books! From BookTube to BookTok, their love for literature and genuine enthusiasm to share it with others make this community truly special.

HarperCollins Publishers announced a four-book publishing deal with Emmy Award-winning actress and producer Jennifer Aniston and animation studio Invisible Universe. The publishing program will star Clydeo, an animated dog inspired by Aniston’s real-life rescue dog, Clyde. The first book, Clydeo Takes a Bite Out of Life (on sale October 1, 2024), is Clydeo’s heartwarming picture book origin story in which he discovers that cooking is what makes him shine. Future Clydeo titles will include a cookbook written by Aniston and Clydeo and two “I Can Read!” leveled readers to follow. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/ecEnHpfK

HarperKids hosted “SPLASH INTO SUMMER READING” at the Color Factory in NYC. This family-friendly event was an entertaining and engaging afternoon filled with smiles, color, sweet treats, book giveaways, and live appearances by beloved HarperCollins Children’s Books authors and characters. Guests included media, influencers, educators, booksellers, and their kids! 

Last night, HarperCollins President and CEO Brian Murray accepted the Literacy Leadership Award at Literacy Partners's annual gala, recognizing HarperCollins's more than 200-year commitment to literary excellence and its 30+ year partnership with Literacy Partners. During the event, Brian also introduced Viola Davis, Academy Award-winning actress, producer, New York Times bestselling author of Finding Me, and founder of JVL Media, who was honored with a Champion of Literacy Award. The evening, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Literacy Partners, raised over $1 million to support innovative literacy education, advocacy, and programming in New York City.
